  1. More like until they sign another guy is the approach I'd rather take, but I understand waiting until after Seattle expansion draft to then determine what route to take with what players are available after. I've been on this train ride for 4 years now wanting Edler gone, hope it's not a 5th
  2. Sadly that's why I think he sat out the last game of the season, I think they thought will just sign him and let him try again next year, and I'm strongly against that unless it's for dirt cheap like 1M as a 6th/7th guy. He can't be relied on anymore as a top player, he's way to slow, his minutes need to come way down, but if that's not the plan and the plan is to sign him to still play top 4 role, then might as well just give up now and throw in the towel, because he's horrible and can't be relied on anymore in those roles.
  3. Damn right I want to move Dolis he's trash, if you want to have games blown out more I guess you keep him, but I prefer to win so I'd get ride of him asap, he shows no emotion when throwing it looks like he's just there to throw the ball and get paid, I want someone who looks like they actually care to throw the ball. I'm also banking on Dickerson to heal up to be our 5th outfielder maybe 4th if he heals up and starts hitting like he has in the past, but that is also lingering in my mind for moving certain players. I wouldn't care so much on the 10M and freeing that up, they have space to add dollars if they acquire someone. Tbh when the Jays originally signed Grichuk I was against it I didn't think he was worth that much, but props to him because he changed my mind over the last few years, he definitely wasn't no Mike Trout, but he got the job done with some decent numbers and I feel he's one of those clutch guys who you can rely on deep in a game to get a hit, where Gurriel I'm still skeptical he can be clutch enough when you need that hit. We agreed to disagree on the Grichuk or Gurriel conversation and when comparing the two players in WAR Grichuk is the better player, so I don't want Grichuk traded I want Gurriel traded if anyone of the two, but I also said if they can move other players and save Grichuk and Gurriel I would be in favor for that, but that's a stretch I do believe one of then has to be moved though.
  4. You have to have that mindset of trying to get ride of dead weight first, and not getting ride of prospects first, but if your mind is already set on trading prospects over other dead weight sounds like an automatic fail approach imo. If it was a single trade regarding Davis then yes I agree just cash, or player to be named later, but if you're throwing him in to sweeten a trade for free you do it over throwing a prospect in there first, you don't just show your cards right away.
  5. Like I know he has a place here and wants to stay here, but Seattle isn't that far, he might be willing to try that for a year and see.
  6. I believe they were letting him play so he could hopefully get his 100th career goal.
  7. Is there a possibility that Seattle signs him?
  8. Keith turns 38 in 4 days , and his numbers have taken a drop the last couple years, definitely declining, but playing with McDavid will help a bit, but Edmonton is about 4 years to late on this one.
  9. The problem with you and sean I believe you kept thinking in your minds I wanted to trade Davis for like one for one and expecting a good value back, but never once did I say this or imply this, but it seemed like you guys had this stuck in your head. I made that trade proposal to show you a better picture of what I'm wanting to do with Davis, and added Grichuk in there just for you because you want him moved over Gurriel and I don't, I don't even want to trade Grichuk I just did that to show you something
  10. Yeah when I saw he was 5'8 I was like that seems a little small to be playing professional football and he looks a little thin, but didn't bother to look it up or anything, but it makes sense now
  11. On most teams... So why was he on the Jays 40 man roster about 3 weeks ago and only was removed from the 40 man roster due to family reasons... What does that say about the Jays roster then? So he's not good enough to crack other teams 40 man rosters but he's good enough to crack the Jays 40 man roster.... June 18th 2021 The Blue Jays are transferring outfielder Jonathan Davis from the paternity list to the restricted list, reports Scott Mitchell of TSN (Twitter link). Players on the paternity list are allotted a maximum of 72 hours away from the team, but Davis will take an extra few days with his family. The 29-year-old isn’t expected to be out for long, but his transfer will temporarily free up a 40-man roster spot for Toronto.
  12. So you're going to tell me if you were the GM and you had a trade going say Grichuk and Dolis and you were getting 2 players back one similar to Grichuk and an arm slightly better then Dolis, but the other team is kind of hesitant about it, your logic is because in your mind you can't move Davis at all I'm not even going to try to add him to this deal to help persue them instead I'm just going to throw in a younger prospect instead.... A team that's maybe a little weak on outfield or has injuries would consider it just to fill a spot for the time being especially if they're basically getting him for free in a deal.
  13. If you're adding him to hopefully sweeten a deal I definitely don't see a problem with doing that, but again if I'm Shatkins I'm leading with Davis as the sweetener before any younger prospects to hopefully protect them, again not saying it will work but you start with him imo, before showing your cards with your younger prospects.
  14. The NHL is run like a dictatorship which I'm shocked in this day of age is still acceptable, don't believe me, explain to me then why aren't players and coaches allowed to speak their true mind on issues? And if they do they normally are fined by the NHL.... This is taking away peoples freedom of speech to protect the integrity of the sport they say, which is a complete joke, it's called controlling what people say that's a dictatorship. This is why you don't get much personality from many players, because when they're doing interviews they need to pay attention to what they say so they don't get fined, especially if they're upset, you know they just want to rip into the NHL and maybe the Refs, but if they do they're fined, their freedom of speech is limited, which then takes away their personality.
  15. Tbh what caught my eye the most in that article was it's only the mRNA ones causing it and seems to be when receiving the 2nd dose, as more people receive the 2nd dose is this something that could be a concern, that's my worry.
  16. I disagree strongly with this assessment, because if you can save a younger prospect instead by throwing in Davis to help complete a trade you do it, you don't hang onto him because he's cheap and easy to move in the organization, if he can help protect from losing a younger prospect in anyway you move him. If I'm Shatkins I'm trying to sell him to any other GM in a trade deal over any younger prospect we have, now I'm not saying it will be successful but I'm not going to try and not move him that's for sure.
  17. Oh Gurn, I like how you quoted canuckster using my comment without quoting me
  18. Well if they did change it and add an extra down, then I would want them shortening the field so it's similar to NFL as well, so you don't have to change it to 15 yards with all that open field. If they really want to attract fans they need to make a change, if they continue with what they have, they're just going to keep losing fans and not gain any.
  19. I always remember when I was younger as a kid watching both sports, I was way more interested and entertained when watching NFL, I still watched them both but couldn't understand why I got more bored while watching CFL Lions games, until I got older and realized the CFL needs to add a 4th down. I know their field is bigger, but not having that 4th down imo just kills the sport, this is where the NFL wins everyday, giving a team that extra chance gives it an extra entertainment level, this is where the CFL fails for fan entertainment value. I get that talent is another issue, but besides just talent it just to slow of a game in the CFL imo, add more excitement like giving them an extra down.
  20. I want to take Bure My gut is telling me to pick Mario, but you just had to put McDavid in there....
  21. Ok this isn't to fear people but more to inform them, and maybe a good idea to talk with you doctor if you have any type of heart issues. Heart inflammation link to Pfizer and Moderna jabs The European Medicines Agency said the side-effects were more common in younger men. The medicines safety body said the benefits of Covid vaccines continue to far outweigh any risks. But doctors and patients have been advised to be aware of the symptoms of heart inflammation. These include chest pain, a feeling of breathlessness and a pounding or fluttering heartbeat. Anyone with these symptoms should see a doctor. Two conditions were linked to the vaccines - inflammation of the heart muscle itself, known as myocarditis, and inflammation of the fluid-filled sac the heart sits in, known as pericarditis. The EMA analysis of cases found: Pfizer-BioNTech - 145 cases of myocarditis and 138 cases of pericarditis out of 177m doses given Moderna - 19 case of myocarditis and 19 cases of pericarditis out of 20 million doses given Five people died. The review said they were all either elderly or had other health conditions. The UK's Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) has also been investigating the link. It reported: "A consistent pattern of cases occurring more frequently in young males and shortly after the second dose of the vaccines. "These reports are extremely rare, and the events are typically mild with individuals usually recovering within a short time with standard treatment and rest," it added. Most cases are thought to be within 14 days of vaccination. While the risk is very rare, it is more likely to develop in young people - who are currently the focus on the vaccination campaign in the UK. Concerns about the side-effects have already played into the UK debate around vaccinating children, who are at lower risk of Covid. Myocarditis and pericarditis will be officially listed as side-effects in the UK and Europe, mirroring a move by the regulators in the US last month. "The chance of these conditions occurring is very low, but you should be aware of the symptoms so that you can get prompt medical treatment to help recovery and avoid complications," the EMA said. The link with heart inflammation was found only in the vaccines that rely on mRNA technology to train the immune system. There was no link found for vaccines such as Oxford-AstraZeneca or Janssen, which use a genetically modified virus. However, the EMA has advised anyone with a history of capillary leak syndrome should not be given the Janssen vaccine. This is a rare but serious syndrome in which fluid leaks from blood vessels in the body. https://www.bbc.com/news/health-57781637 And just for the record as reported in this article the FDA a month ago added heart inflammation as a warning to Pfizer and Moderna vaccines.
