  1. Lack of talent, so the young players they have now don't have enough talent, is what they're saying. EP, Brock, Hughes, Hoglander, Horvat, Miller, not enough talent, they need more of that, but when the system they play is more about being defensive getting more talent isn't going to change, if anything because of the system Green has it will limit them from scoring more because they need to be better defensively for his system to work in his eyes. They need to aquire a couple big forwards who can generate offensive with their size and drive to the net, and Green needs to let them try without having them on a tight leash to generate more offense but because of his defensive system this will always be a problem going forward, hence why he's the wrong fit going forward.
  2. I'm not mad at him for picking Virtanen I was in favor of it and was a huge supporter of Virtanen, I do question how he was managed here though especially with Green and trying to turn him into a Bo Horvat type player instead of just trying to improve his game, if they really wanted a two way player more then they should of drafted that instead, but they drafted a power forward and instead of trying to improve his game in what his strengths were already, they decided to try and turn him into a two way player more then try and improve offensive game and just turn him into an offensive threat with his size and strength, and I blame Green for that because his coaching system is more of a defensive style then offense style, hence why they rely on the goalie every year under his system, just garbage.
  3. So it's already been what 7-8 years of failure, and it's another 3-5 years away, so this was a 12 year plan....
  4. Definitely a little surprising for the ticket season holders, especially when you have a new team joining the league a couple hours away, and how everyone has seen how well the last team has done since they joined the league, he's taking a huge gamble financially on this management and coaching group that I believe will hurt him, because I don't see much changing, a team fighting to make a playoff spot but relying on a goalie 75% of the time because of the coaching, seen the same crap now for 4 years under Green and haven't seen any improvements, just the same thing. One factor that has me completely sold on Green not being good enough was watching them earlier this year and coming out flat for the first period too many times this year, in Greens 4th year of coaching the players are still not prepared half the time for the start of games, but according to Francesco Greens been improving every year, again not drinking this Kool-aid crap anymore.
  5. Woo is 20, Pod is 19 so this team will be ready in about 5 years then...
  6. A whole 2 inches taller then Hughes wow that's really going to shut down top power forwards in the NHL
  7. Well when the owner of the team comes out and says that Green has shown improvements every year, for the reasoning for resigning him again, well I just give up, that's complete crap and the record shows that. I don't trust anything anymore that comes out of this management or owners mouth anymore, just nothing but crap.
  8. Gadjovich is the one who has some size on him who will be the one you hope pans out, the others you mention again won't help them for a grittier playoffs, Woo is tiny, Lind isn't that big lol, Pod well time will tell he is Russian so they can be pretty strong, but how he adapts to the NHL will be the test. Heck Gusev who was the KHL leading scorer for a couple years I believe before coming to the NHL had a bad year this year and everyone already saying he's done, the leading scorer in the KHL has one bad year in his 2nd NHL year and he's supposedly already done according to some people on CDC. So before everyone pencils in Pod as this superstar already give it time first and see, may not pan out and if he has a bad year then maybe people on CDC will say he's done then as well
  9. I get it they were young, but I don't see them filling out enough or growing as tall as Vegas was. They need more guys like a Virtanen or Ferlund size, but they need to get players who can actually produce and actually stay healthy and play lol, but if they don't find a couple of those type of players for these core players, the core is a complete waste because physically they won't be able to carrry this team deep in a playoff run no way.
  10. EP is not going to turn into some Forsberg strength, he will mature into similar to the Sedins who couldn't drive the puck to the net, EP doesn't have a twin to cycle with to create space, clearly Benning is building a team of small skilled forwards who will be physically dominated late in playoff rounds all that skill won't matter if they can't protect themselves or drive to the net, can't rely on perimeter play.
  11. Coaching record with Canucks. Willie Dejardins (3 years) GP:246 W:109 L:110 OL:27 Travis Green (4 years) GP:282 W:122 L:129 OL:31
  12. Even if our goaltending carried us Thank you.
  13. I don't think I'm going to enjoy anything, I'm done drinking the fairy dust here. Thinking everything is peachy and fine and being sold on this group as being built to win down the road which is complete crap, I'm not buying that crap anymore. I was suckered into believing Willie Desjardins was not good, but when a coach like Green comes in and is actually worse and you have the owner of the team saying he has shown improvements every year, that's when I say enough of the kool-aid these clowns are clueless.
  14. I don't see EP filling out as strong as Bo not a chance, Hughes not a chance, Hoglander wont be as big and strong as Horvat, will be gritty but not strong enough. Brock gets shoved a lot, he needs to bulk up to hold his ground so he can stay healthy and snipe if he works out with Horvat then he might have a chance. Still not enough.
  15. Are you watching the playoffs at all? Did you watch Canucks and Vegas last year? That was men playing against boys, these young core you speak of as skilled as they are are too small for playoffs, they not going to grow anymore, they might fill out, well they have to if they want a chance at a cup one day. Or are they just going to rely on a goalie every year to carry them everywhere they go? Take the hits, take the injuries, as long as our goalie bails us out of all the time I guess things will be great, will continue acquiring more small skilled players who aren't suited for playoffs just suited for regular season, and rely on the goalie for the playoffs. Good luck there.
  16. Not with Green as coach, just a waste of talent.
  17. I'm sure he will have to down the road at sometime when he finally realizes he made a mistake, and the Canucks just aren't good enough, they could be better but they'd rather stick with mediocre boring hockey, not a good thing to do with a new team coming in just a couple hours away.
  18. Just when you thought the Canucks were turning the corner in the right direction
  19. How many times did the Sedins drive to the net with their toughness you speak of in the playoffs? You're telling me you saw the Sedins do this all the time, no because they didn't have that kind of strength toughness to do it, they had the toughness to take a beating behind the net and try and create space, they didn't have the toughness and strength to drive the puck to the net they had to rely on another player to do that. And the only guy imo is Horvat who can do that without being shoved to the ice every time he tries. I like Hoglander a lot lots of skill in him and yes he isn't afraid which is good, but doesn't mean he can't be hit, doesn't mean he can't be hurt, one hit is all it takes. The playoffs are completely different then regular season, way more tougher and more dirty stuff will happen and you can't rely on the refs to protect every under sized player you have, no matter how skilled they are. They need more guys sized like Horvat and Virtanen, but need to make sure they can produce unlike Virtanen, but they will need a couple more of these players imo if they want to ever make a deep run, because if they stick with the guys they have they won't be strong enough. EP is a twig, he needs to bulk up or he will be injury prone his whole career, so he's going to rely on cheap dirty hits on guys without the puck for his whole career because he can't take a hit.... Good luck with that.
  20. I decided this year to try and watch as many Canucks games so if I came on here and was critical about someone or something I would know what I was talking about , and I don't like Green and his system, so I wanted to see if it was productive this year or the same old crap, turned out it was the same old crap. Just before they had their covid outbreak they started doing bad then covid hit and I kind of lost interest, I really only watched the Canucks and Oilers games just to watch McDavid play. I haven't watched really any Jays games yet, just catch highlights and look at game stats to get a rough idea what's going on. I wish I watched the game yesterday missed Vladdy hitting 2 HR.
  21. Guess I'll be back to watching Jays more now, Canucks season was depressing to say the least. At least the Jays look like they're doing good this year so far, it was predicted two years ago that this is when they would be competitive, looks like that was accurate that's good to see hopefully it continues. Glad Montoyo finally budged and found a replacement leadoff hitter over Biggio, looks like it paid off. Go Jays Go
  22. @-Vintage Canuck- You should change it to Official now I guess
  23. Oh ok everyone you're now not allowed to talk or post an image of any other team in the NHL when your on a Canucks forum, hmm gotcha. You know what's funny before this season started you came into the Coronavirus topic and told people to start talking about hockey again and drop all the covid drama talk because the season was getting ready to go. My response to you was you don't want me coming over there because I'm going to be talking about Green and wanting him fired and why is Loui Eriksson still here. You brought me here this year
