Creating a vaccine in under 1 year is no small feat. While the coronavirus pandemic made a new normal of mask-wearing and physical distancing, it also spurred global cooperation for vaccine research and distribution.

Considering that the fastest vaccine — the mumps vaccine — took 4 years to develop, it is natural to have some apprehension over the safety and effectiveness of a vaccine.

Under normal circumstances, making a vaccine can take up to 10–15 years. This is because of the complexity of vaccine development.

Several countries have started administering the Pfizer/BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine. It is the first mRNA vaccine to be used in humans outside of clinical trials.

The other company working on an mRNA COVID-19 vaccine is Moderna, who are collaborating with the NIH. In addition to their accelerated development of vaccines, both companies are pioneers in mRNA technology.

This was in December 2020.

@Sean Monahan Again I'll repeat never has a vaccine been rushed this fast for production for use ever, so something that's never been done before I'll be skeptical imo that's still 50/50 something that's never been done before but your acting like this has happened before or happens all the time for producing a vaccine for a virus this fast yet they've never done one this fast, so I don't know how you can come to the assumption that it's all fine before actually knowing. I said in my original post we hope everything is safe we want to trust them, but when something has been rushed as fast as this one was I'm going to stay skeptical for a bit.

Did I say I was okay with getting covid? Did you not read my original post? I've been masking up before masking up was even mandatory for your info, maybe if the people who didn't take this virus serious actually did take it serious from the beginning like myself maybe this virus would of been gone by now.... But because of their actions of not trying to stop spreading it, now I'm considered the bad guy because I'm skeptical about a vaccine that was rushed into production.... I also said in my OP I'm not against getting the vaccine one day, just at the moment not right now and hopefully I'm proven wrong. 

Your post didn't come off like that at all just saying, it's a 50-50 guess at this point imo, we really don't know, but obviously we want to hope and believe it's all good, imo that's still a gamble that I'm not sure I'm willing to take yet.

Well then Mr. future scientist, what I'd like to know then, how can you read the future before everyone else and already know nothing will happen? Seems like quite the assumption before actually knowing anything. 

I knew it was a satire joke hence my reply to you, it was just a bad one comparing Messier to McDavid that's an automatic fail.

I'm more curious to see how peoples bodies react to it over the next year, because this vaccine was so rushed compared to any other vaccine in history people are just testers right now. Now I'm not saying they don't know what they're doing, but because it was so rushed not all the proper thorough testing was done imo, especially when I read a month ago in Vancouver they gave the wrong vaccine to kids under 17, because Moderna said it hasn't tested enough on kids that age yet to say if it's going to work, when you read and see things like that, makes me more skeptical. I will say though I'm not against getting the vaccine one day, but I'm more interested in seeing the cause and effect it may have on people before putting it in my body. But for the time being I will continue to wear my mask, wear my gloves, keep my distance from people even though half the people out there can't figure this one out still, but I will.

He's definitely someone I would consider if I'm the Canucks, obviously not over paying but he's due for a bump, but that added size on our blueline would be a huge help imo, I wouldn't pair him with Myers spread that size out would be nice imo. The other option would be making a trade with the Jets to aquire Logan Stanley, but I kind of like Oleksiak because he's a UFA and won't cost trade picks or prospects, but Logan Stanley is interesting due to his younger age and big size.

I don't see why not, seems like a no brainer at a cheap price, he wants to play in the NHL, so see if being closer to his brother helps him get to that next level, and vice versa probably helps EP as well to be closer to his brother. 

That's Edmontons fault for not winning , they're relying on a 39 year old goalie to carry them if McDavid doesn't score , team was put together horribly. 

@King Heffy Personal stats over winning , what... You got some of that Kool-aid over there as well I see. If he cared so much about personal stats he wouldn't dish out as many assists as he does, and instead score way more goals, you're seriously stretching this one way too far

Not if they win the first overall not a chance, you trade for McDavid instead 

 wow I'm shocked this was actually real, hmmm okay weird timing but ok.

Would of waited until mid way through next season and depending on how they're doing would call for something like this, not after this covid season though
