  1. NHL pulling faulty pucks with tracking tech The NHL announced that it will stop using pucks with imbedded tracking technology for the foreseeable future due to complaints about their performance during the start of the 2021 season. The change is effective beginning with Tuesday night's games. The NHL reviewed the first supply of tracking pucks that it has been using and determined that they did not receive "the same precise finishing treatments during the offseason manufacturing process as were used during the 2020 Stanley Cup Playoffs." One NHL player told ESPN on Tuesday that the pucks were "terrible" and "don't slide," adding that players had voiced their displeasure with them. The league said a new supply of the pucks will be available soon and will "undergo appropriate quality control testing" before being used in games. In the interim, the league said it will use official game pucks from the 2019-20 season. It will also continue to use optical player tracking, which is the other half of the two-pronged tracking system along with the devices inside the puck. This is the first full season of puck and player tracking for the NHL, which promises to provide a significant amount of new data to enhance everything from TV broadcasts to sports wagering. The league has attempted to embed technology inside pucks for years, finding the results too ineffective or costly. This incarnation of the pucks was used during tests and in the postseason during 2020, with a sensor in the puck tracked by 14-16 antennae installed in the arena rafters. https://www.espn.com/nhl/story/_/id/30743632/nhl-pulling-faulty-pucks-tracking-tech
  2. Did anyone see or read yet about the faulty pucks the NHL was using and made sure on Tuesday yesterday high tech pucks weren't allowed to be used anymore.... What shocks me more is I didn't even hear the NHL was trying new technology pucks for games this season at all in the first place seems weird....
  3. If only he played more like Willie Mitchell and not Quinn Hughes, I'm sure we'd be hearing and seeing way more of that long reach to his advantage.
  4. Matthews didn't like the way the coach approached the game against the Oilers coaching/player problems in Toronto again
  5. I really hope this pandemic is over by this time next year, it's been roughly a year since it really started going around the world, but it feels like it's been going on longer. I just hope this doesn't last any longer than another year and really hope I don't have to go through something like this again in my life, this covid sucks.
  6. Let's hope that's all they were waiting for, but I doubt the Jays would have the money to grab a good one now, maybe a cheaper option one hopefully something.
  7. Report: Brantley re-signs with Astros on 2-year, $32M deal Michael Brantley is staying in Houston after all. Only a few hours after appearing to be headed to the Toronto Blue Jays, the four-time All-Star outfielder agreed to re-sign with the Astros on a two-year, $32-million contract, sources told Mark Berman of KRIV Houston. Completion of the deal is pending a physical, according to Chandler Rome of the Houston Chronicle. Earlier reports on Wednesday suggested that Brantley had agreed to terms on a three-year deal with the Blue Jays, less than 12 hours after they reportedly added his soon-to-be-former teammate George Springer. The Blue Jays reportedly were targeting Brantley - who shares an agent with Springer and is a close friend - as a tandem signing. However, a Blue Jays source quickly refuted rumors of an agreement being in place, saying Toronto was in the mix, but no deal had been reached and Brantley was still talking to other teams. In the end, the Blue Jays weren't close to landing Brantley, ESPN's Buster Olney reports. https://www.thescore.com/mlb/news/2096213
  8. I feel the springer signing was a little too much, for a guy who doesn't hit over .300 and signed him until he's 37 he better be some Angels in the outfield type god because his bat didn't deserve that much imo... $25M a year.... Pitching is what needed to be addressed more imo why isn't this money going towards pitching....
  9. Took them long enough to figure out that one was a mistake, they tried to hang on to him and hope but when he took that ball in the face on the fly ball you just knew he was no good Edit: Didn't scroll up enough to see your gif of it in post before
  10. It was late last night so you might of been sleeping but here you go you asked for a signing That one pitcher is Tyler Chatwood. Late Monday night, the Blue Jays agreed to terms with Chatwood on a one-year, $3-million deal that, as reported by colleague Shi Davidi, could be worth $5.5 million if the 31-year-old reaches certain incentives. https://www.sportsnet.ca/mlb/article/blue-jays-betting-upside-spin-tyler-chatwood-signing/
  11. I've been leaning as well to see what their record is after 10 games before really deciding, but I'm not going to ignore what's not been looking good either, but stay optimistic for 10 games and hope it changes before they reach 10. Although looking at the schedule and starting tomorrow in the next 14 days they have 9 games and 5 of them are against Montreal, it's a little alarming imo and if they don't get their feet going here quick and those give them 10 games will be coming up quick, so hopefully it changes quick.
  12. This is exactly what it is, he's frustrated right now and it showed with a that poor decision, just a lack of judgment, it was a mistake now move on and learn from it and score some goals instead
