  1. Twinkletoes needs to start laying the body more. He's trailed off recently
  2. Horvat is listed as 6'1 216lbs by the Comets in their report.
  3. I have a fully upgraded fast-charge rare fusion rifle and I love it. So many kills in close. Once you have the timing down and know your effective range its amazing.
  4. I just hope he can keep up with the NHL game and actually make it lol
  5. How's Calgarys prospect pool looking? I wouldnt be surprised if they traded Virtanen or Chase for futures if its not looking like they can contend for the next 2 years
  6. Okay! I've got the top 52 for single season U18 goal scorers in the CHL since 2000. I couldnt find an option for ES goals unfortunately but here it is:
  7. I'm going to take another look and collect all of the players down to 35-40 goals to get a broader range. Ill get on it once this World Lacrosse Championship game is done I'll see what I can do about ES Goals, I dont know if eliteprospects will have those tracked for every season and every player.
  8. I think had Honzik played in any league but the QMJHL he would have developed way better. He had all of the raw skills needed and really impressed with his pure athleticism. Demko is hands down the better prospect than Honzik ever was though
  9. It was the top Under-18 goal scorers, a category that Virtanen has been hyped up because he falls under. I completely forgot about Tavares. Anyways Im amazed at only having one mistake considering I did it at 4am
  10. I posted this on HF: For fun, and because I can't sleep at all, I decided to do some stat tracking to see where Virtanen sits amongst the top U18 goalscorers of the CHL (since the 2000-2001 season, turn of the century pretty much). Because eliteprospects doesn't track stats across all three leagues of the CHL I did it by hand and recorded the top single-season goalscorers of every league down to the "Virtanen Standard". Ties were determined by total points, if a further tiebreaker is needed, GP shall be used. Here it is: So, as I said, I did this because I wanted to see where Virtanen stood amongst prospects in recent years in his strongest attribute. What I learned from it is that Ehlers is a great scorer, like really good at scoring.

  12. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PNTqO-z0AQk short highlight vid of him exhibits a strong wrister from the point and a heavy slapshot, can hit, and he can skate very well. He could easily become a very useful bottom pairing dman who can eat minutes both 5 on 5 and on special teams, and thats on skills alone, without seeing how well he can think the game.
  13. Jensen can play either wing, same as Virtanen. And McCann spent a lot of time on LW last season.
  14. Good pick, this is a guy who I would have been alright with higher in the draft. Love those question responses, clever guy.
  15. Not my first choice but Ive decided that whining isnt going to change anything. Why rain on the local kids parade. Gonna root for him from here on out.
  16. I would be so rattled if Hutts pulled a Schultz on us, doubt he would though. Even though some chick from his Uni interviewed him as a "Campus Sports Cutie" or something and he said his favourite sports team was the Colorado Avalanche.
  17. Yes, the vast improvement over the season. It is what it is.
  18. Any value in your opinion of who we should draft = gone. On second thought, this was a bit harsh, but still. Perlini is a streaky player who completely dropped off in the latter part of the season. He'll probably go in the late teens. Look, the fact of the matter is that there have been hundreds upon hundreds of posts on numerous forums debating Ehlers points. Literally. He achieved the vast majority of his points without Drouin, and as he adjusted to the NA game, his PPG steadily increased (as noted here http://www.lighthousehockey.com/2014/4/4/5582298/comparing-nikolaj-ehlerss-points-per-game-to-recent-qmjhl-standout ) edit: url not working http://www. lighthousehockey.com/2014/4/4/5582298/comparing-nikolaj-ehlerss-points-per-game-to-recent-qmjhl-standout He went from a 0.86 PPG in September to a 2.43 PPG in March and a 2.5 PPG in the 1st round. His stats will likely drop down slightly next season as the Mooseheads veterans leave the league and he has more responsibility but the fact remains that he had Drouin level scoring as a rookie in North America. Dale Tallon is incredibly high on him and has compared him to Patrick Kane (really doubt he ever is as good as Kane but still). I would 100% take him at 6, and its entirely plausible that the Islanders take him at 5 because they will be looking for a winger. In that event I would take Dal Colle in a heartbeat.
  19. Of course I am a bit biased against Virtanen seeing as I wouldnt touch him above 9 because of his hockey sense, or lack thereof. My choice is Ehlers, or Dal Colle, if the Islanders elect to draft Ehlers at 5, which is entirely plausible.
  20. BanTSN needs to watch Ehlers more. His compete level is excellent, his mobility is excellent, his defensive game is underrated. It is definitely better than Nylanders. Ehlers also has an excellent scoring touch and drive to score. He'll take a hit to make a play and he isn't afraid of throwing his, albeit thin, body. Nylander's release is actually very good, he has a way of smoothly rolling the puck off of his blade during wrist shots that is very fluid and very quick. I would also state that Virtanen's anticipation is pretty horrid. The times I've watched him play, he has been at the wrong place at the wrong time consistently and it has disrupted the cycle. He needs to either hit the books/footage and learn his role/position perfectly to the point where it is just instinct to go to the right place or have a coach drill it into his head.
  21. Wow, just checked out the Coaching and Staff page and there are a lot more scouts now than last time I check. I think the most recent addition last year was Judd Brackett (who knows every single transaction from Canadian Minor Hockey to NCAA if you follow him on twitter)
  22. I dont think that all of them were available in the same package but they were all available
  23. http://www.ocregister.com/articles/ducks-604471-murray-kesler.html Honestly heading into the trade deadline that Anaheim package was my ideal return for Kesler, I didnt care for Sutter + Pouliot + 1st too much. I think that Gillis was going too hard to get the roster player in the package. Im assuming that the player would be Bonino, who there is no way Anaheim moves in a package thats already this big (and hes a key player for them now). Getting Etem + Vatanen gives us too very solid offensive prospects at positions where we will be needing them soon, and Etem has historical chemistry with Shinkaruk. The 6th overall pick could easily be anyone from Dal Colle to Draisaitl or Ehlers and any of those three would be fantastic additions to our team.
  24. Honestly I think we're most likely to end up at 9th or 10th with one of McCann, Perlini, Nylander or Kapanen. Perlini looks like an absolute Gillis pick with his size, speed, skill combo. I think he's a little risky but I wouldnt mind him in the long run, looks like another Jensen type. McCann I would like second most out of this quartet, he has a solid wrist shot, decent size, a solid two way game and underrated offensive upside. Some guys on HF have christened him a Toews-lite, which I am skeptical of but I like that he has a solid floor/potentially rising ceiling to him. Nylander I want the most because of our need for top offensive players for the future. He has a high octane offensive game and has been showing very impressively in the SHL from the games and clips I've seen of him. He has a bit more risk to his game but the payoff could be absolutely worth it. Kapanen is a player that I have not seen play but he was a parallel player to Ehlers earlier this year before Ehlers exploded in the CHL. He has a fast game with good two way play but he isnt very physical from what I've read. Really don't know too much about him but he averages from 10-15 in a lot of rankings so figured he would be on our radar. For me I think best case scenario is that Ritchie or Ehlers fall to us. Best of all time (BOAT) scenario would be trading Kesler+ to Anaheim for Etem and Ottawa's pick (projected 6th overall, maybe 5th if they continue tanking like a boss). That 6th overall pick gives us a definite chance at one of the 2nd tier of players behind the Big 3: Dal Colle/Draisaitl/Ehlers.
