  1. I'd throw Frederik Anderson in there as well.
  2. Awesome. Thanks for the response!
  3. I would like to piggy back another question regarding expansion onto this thread. Any player with more than 2 years of professional hockey is exposed in expansion draft assuming their team doesn't protect them. At the end of this coming season, Virtanen will have 2 full years of professional hockey and a handfull of playoff games with Utica from the season before last. Do those playoff games bring him over two years and expose him, or did he have to play a certain amount of games with Utica that season for it to count?
  4. If you're gonna mention Gio (age 32) as an un-drafted gem, it's probably fair to note Tanev (age 26) as an offset. I know Tanev isn't Gio, but he's still a top pairing defensive D-man.
  5. Fair enough. They do have a lot of offensive tools and they play a more north south game though. Losing Hall will hurt that, but a healthy McDavid will be important. Regardless, I don't like to judge what a young player can do in a new environment until there is a sample to look at. Stay at home might just be his game, but his whole career has been with one of the most defensive minded teams in the league, so I think it's to early to make that call with any kind of certainty.
  6. Larsson is a lot younger and will likely develop more. I'm not saying it's a given, just that the circumstances are such that it's still a possibility. Like I said, next year will be telling, one way or the other.
  7. From what he's shown so far, you're correct, but keep in mind that he's moving from a very defensive system to a high powered offensive system. The drastic change in scenery this year should be a defining factor in what to expect from Larsson in the years to come.
  8. I don't think there should be as much separation between Connor and Boeser. Weather it's that Boeser is too low, Connor is too high, or some combination of the two. Connor should definitely be higher than Boeser but I don't think the separation in scoring is enough for that large of a gap in the prospect rankings.
  9. Can't seem to find a scouting report on him. Seems to have a nose for the net. Anyone know how his skating is?
  10. I have a question regarding expansion. If I missed it earlier in this thread or in another, I apologize. Players with 2 or less years of professional hockey do not need to be protected. My question is, does Jake playing in the Utica playoff run just over a year ago take him to over 2 years at the end of this season? Since it was so brief, I would assume not, I'm just curious.
  11. It's the main thing that keeps me going through the off-season. I need my hockey news!
  12. Agreed. The last thing I remember hearing was that he was going to Russia to get married and then coming back out here to train. Training with an NHL club for most of the offseason suggests good things to come for next year, but I want to see some progress for personal hype purposes.
