  1. As they say, once you're in the playoffs - anything can happen. Unless you're a Canucks fan, then you can see the future.
  2. Lu will start. Edler + prospect. Gillis has to realize that the grand UFA market era is pretty much gone. I'm still loyal to this team and root for them win or lose.
  3. Biggest difference in the video between now and then is that if Burrows got that kind of breakaway tonight, the crowd would be dead silent. Our arena is a graveyard.
  4. Maaaaan. Kesler has not won a single important game in his career. - Gold Medal 2010 Olympics - Game 7 2011 Finals - NHL Playoffs 2012,2013 - Semi-Final, Bronze Medal 2014 Olympics Not trying to bag on him, as he's a BRILLIANT player. But, seriously.
  5. seeing both my favourite teams (Nucks,Pens) swept away last year was very sobering. Winning isn't dependant on scoring.
  6. Gillis is too afraid to move anyone, which I think is bleeding into the mentality of the team. They all know they're safe, even if the play terribly. Gillis needs to move a big name or two and strike the fear into their hearts. Atleast that might get it pumping.
  7. I know I'm probably in the minority here, but this game actually rebuilt my confidence for this team. Down 2-0 in the first 7 minutes, and still manage to make it a game. This Winnipeg team has been playing GREAT recently, so I think there's something to take away from putting the pressure on them in their own barn. I still believe we need to get rid of a D-man for some Forward(s), but I'm a lot less "off with their heads" than I was this morning. (I actually cheered when we scored during the game; haven't done that in a while. A sign of hope?)
  8. 1-0 Jets. Lack plays brilliantly, but the team in front doesn't move their legs or shoot the puck on net.
  9. On our way to becoming Calgary: "Still a contender" - Calgary post-Finals: 4 first-round exits, 4 years of not qualifying. "Still a contender" - Vancouver post-Finals: 2 first-round exits......
  10. Here's why this is a REAL moral victory: 2 points. Unfortunately it was against Calgary so nobody was really impressed.
  11. Get three of Bieksa, Edler, Higgins, Burrows, Hansen traded for a Top-6 winger. Sedins - _______ Hig - Kes - Santo _______ - Richardson - Weise Sestito - Dalpe/? - Archibald Hamhuis - Tanev Garry - Stanton _____ - Corrado Lu La
  12. Team's mentality of sending a message is more important than getting two points. 4-1 Coyotes.
  13. On our way to becoming Calgary. - don't want to admit we're declining - our stars are declining - our cap space is nill - NTC's up the whazooo - RFA's to re-sign Don't be surprised to see Gillis trade away our 1st Rnd pick/prospect for a winger/rental.
  14. We used to hurt teams on the scoreboard, now we want to just hurt them. If that's the plan, then bottom-dwellers we shall become. This team isn't built for that, and games like this past one against LA prove it. When we play big and tough, we lose our focus, and have our game get away from us. Other teams WILL score on us, and beating them up wont change that. Embarassing to see a team proud of itself after a game like that. Stanley Cup Game 7 mentality right there. Atleast I have the Pens.
  15. I've not beena fan of Edler for a good long time now, so I'm not too crazy he's back in our line-up. I've got more faith in this team with Torts behind the bench and Edler out of the line-up. 2-0 LA win.
  16. Wow. Turning point of the season for me. 40 minutes of hockey, and two completely different teams. I have HUGE doubts about this team making it to the playoffs now, when we can just drop off like that against a team that is a divisional opponent. Flat out embarassing period, and I don't believe we'll recover. Two games, two run goalies, two losses.
  17. After hearing what Thornton is getting, I would wish injury upon a Bruin, but I know whichever Canuck who inflected such terror would be suspended for life. I'll wait for another team to do the honours.
  18. First of all, if we're gonna start throwing out Matt Cookes name to show how the Pens are dirty, lets just remember the Canucks were the ones who drafted him; nevermind it being irrelevant. Secondly, Neal did make a suspendable play. On Marchand, whose done suspendable plays on a game basis, and who went around acting like himself as soon as he was back on the ice, I share no sympathy. Thornton is 36. Either get suspended and retire, or get suspended, and have someone force you into retirement. I hope for the latter.
  19. An experience like that would be great, as these tickets are supposed to be my birthday gift. That sounds like a fantastic night, though. Glad you had a great time.
