  1. Elias Pettersson | C/RW

It is an Oilers scout. They don't exactly have the best drafting record outside the top 5 picks they're handed year after year.
  2. Elias Pettersson | C/RW

Elias "Devil Pussy" Pettersson. I like the sound of that.
  3. 2nd Best Dman in 2018 Draft

I just want to say its dangerous to rate defenseman solely based on points. I am aware the game has changed and the slow, physical stay at home d-man is going the way of the caveman, but being at least solid defensively is still critical. Its in the name. There are enough talented forwards out there who get left out to dry because they can't adapt to the defense required to play in the NHL, that's an even worse position to be in for a defenseman. I want that offensive dynamo PP quarterback as much as the next fan, but not if he's also going to get burned multiple times a game because he's forcing plays and can't get back into position.
  4. Current Untouchables?

As said before and will surely be said again, there is no such thing as an untouchable player. Blah blah the right deal blah blah if Gretzky was traded blah blah. "Untouchable" doesn't mean "Too valuable to trade" it means "Has to be drastically overpaid for"
  5. 2018 NHL Entry Draft

This is going to be the first draft in years where I don’t have a favourite and I’ll be content with whoever we end up picking. The top 8 or so all look like gamebreakers and we should be good with whoever JB ends up picking. I’ve doubted him in the past but at this point he’s done nothing but showcase an excellent drafting track record.
  6. I never thought I'd see the day when I pulled for Boston to win a series. Only the Leafs could do that.
  7. [PGT] Vancouver Canucks vs. Edmonton Oilers

Newfound respect for the Oilers and their fans. Still hate their guts but you have to appreciate how great they were tonight.
  8. [Rumor] Jonathan Tavares to test UFA

Hossa played for the Hawks though, of course it worked for them.
  9. Tragic. And honestly a little spooky. Another Saskatchewan junior team named the broncos suffers a horrific bus accident. I really hope there aren’t as many fatalities as being speculated.
  10. Edmonton Oilers - Are they broken?

I don't think Edmonton ever had it together. It was the same terrible organization it always was, the difference last year was that McDavid and Draisaitl were better than the typical kids they immediately hand the keys to the team over to. Everyone had a career year, now they're crashing back to Earth.
  11. The Calgary Flames

If I were a Flames fan I would be pulling my hair out right now. Miss the playoffs when you’re supposed to be a contender, mortgage the future for a fragile team so you don’t pick until you get to the fourth round, and of course that entire mess of a situation with the arena when you have Bettman making poorly veiled threats of relocation. Makes complaints like getting a lacklustre return on a free agent at the deadline seem absolutely rosy.
  12. Fans really want Melnyk out

Imagine this board if Aquilini started to pull some Melnyk-esque moves and Canucks fans started acting this way. There would be a nonstop flood of posts about how the team deserves to move because the fanbase is just so bad. Of course, we have those posts all the time already, but I imagine it would be a hundred times worse.
  13. The Calgary Flames

It's the Oilers. The entire organization needs to be gutted from the very top to the lowly popcorn vendors if they truly want to be genuine contenders again. I'm not saying last year was a 'fluke', but basically what happened was the same tried and true tactics that have kept the Oilers in the basement every year were countered by McDavid and Draisaitl being better than the usual highly touted forward they plug into the top lines, and pretty much everyone had a career year last year as well. Its not that the Oilers figured it out and this year was a misfire, its that they fell back to Earth.
  14. A Bad Restaurant

It's threads like these that make me really miss the minus button.
