  1. Erik Karlsson (discussion)

If I were Karlsson I’d be doing the same too. It has nothing to do with the money though, just looking at what a catastrophic mess Ottawa has become. It seems Dorion is making a run at Milbury’s title of dumbest GM.
  2. Hate the flames, hate their fans, but don’t want to see anybody lose their team.
  3. Marchand (Again)

Give him 20 games. The hit alone might not be worth it but his reputation certainly does. He’s clearly never going to learn with slap-on-the-wrist fines and paltry 1-2 game suspensions. If Torres got a 41 game suspension for his rep I don’t think giving Marchand 20 for headhunting is out of line.
  4. Elias Pettersson | C/LW

To me, the fact that he’s able to score at this rate while built like a lich is all the more impressive. Imagine the damage he’ll do once he finally puts some meat on his bones
  5. If it weren't for Subban's older brother nobody would be disappointed to see him leave. Maybe its because we've had identical twin superstars for so long, but people on CDC genuinely seem to expect that just because they wear the same name on the back of their jersey that Jordan is still somehow going to turn into PK. He's a nice kid and I wish him all the success in the world but the Subban hype was always a bit silly for me.
  6. Canucks Game Experience is Awful

I went to the game tuesday with 6 friends and we spent the third period chanting 'Darling, YOU SUCK' at the top of our lungs. I was waiting the entire time to be told off by an usher, but it never happened. I don't necessarily think its a directive to shut up fans but more a case-by-case thing depending on the usher.
  7. Flames’ Tkachuk Spears Matt Martin

And yet he's still a dirtbag. Notice how everyone in this thread acknowledges Tkachuk can play hockey, but its second fiddle to the fact that he's a scumbag.
  8. Flames’ Tkachuk Spears Matt Martin

I said it at the draft and I'm sticking to it now. I don't want Tkachuk on this team and I'm still glad we picked Juolevi over him. This kid is going to be the next Cooke, Marchand, Carcillo, etc. He'll score but is his dirtbaggery worth it? He has one of the most punchable faces I've ever seen.
  9. [PGT] Toronto Maple Leafs vs. Vancouver Canucks

If you only count the city proper yes. But if you count the metropolitan area like everyone does for cities there are a million more people in Toronto than BC. Not counting the Metro areas would be the equivalent of only looking at Vancouver and not counting Burnaby, Richmond, North Van etc.
  10. [PGT] Toronto Maple Leafs vs. Vancouver Canucks

That's very true, but growing up I knew quite a few Laffs fans who have never set foot in Ontario. Same with Oilers, Habs, etc. For sure a lot of them are just bandwagoners because of muh history but a lot of them grew up in a "Leafs House" or whatever based on what their parents supported.
  11. NHL All-Star 2018 Captaincy Vote

Honestly I know its my homerism my talking, but I really don't think there's been very much hype for Boeser outside Vancouver. If he played on the Laffs or Chicago or Pittsburgh, you'd be hearing nonstop about how he's the next Hull/Bossy/Richard. But because he's on Vancouver it's pretty minimal. I was pretty shocked they gave him Rookie of the Month, I was expecting Keller or Debrincat or Barzal or Hischier or one of those other vastly superior prospects who aren't even at a PPG.
  12. Proposal - Canucks - Buffalo

I'm not interested in trading for Kane when there's a very good chance we can have him for free in the offseason. Your proposal is basically mortgaging the future over an extremely slim prospect of a cup run.
  13. [PGT] Toronto Maple Leafs vs. Vancouver Canucks

I hate Leafs fans too, but its because of the massive number of Ontario transplants out here. The Make Beleafs are here for one game a year so naturally its the one they all go to. I'd imagine its not too different back east, but of course there's the fact that there's more people in Toronto than the entire province of BC
  14. Gudbranson is not a "tough guy". He will stick up for his teammates, but its not his job to go out and fight. His job is to make every forward on the opposing team second guess coming within spitting distance of our goal. Is that worth whatever the price he's asking for? I don't know, but its disingenuous to chalk his presence up to just fighting.
  15. Elias Pettersson | C/LW

If he ends up being better than Jagr or Scott Stevens I'd say he was a successful pick, but that's a high bar to set.
