  1. bottom of 5th no body out, ball hit to shallow outfield and Kiermaier gets sent from second to home- called out at the plate. Not sure I like that decision, to send him, or to call him out.
  2. Happy for Quinn, yet still feel like the Captaincy is the most overrated concern in hockey.
  3. Repetitive squats, all while wearing goalie gear.
  4. Took awhile, but the guy finally resigned: https://www.msn.com/en-ca/news/world/suspended-spanish-soccer-federation-president-luis-rubiales-resigns-after-kiss-scandal-at-world-cup/ar-AA1gwbBq?bncnt=BroadcastNews_BreakingNews&ocid=UCPNC2&FORM=BNC001&cvid=fe0f23b8d0dd4b4fb7f795ae8494bf53&ei=72 " MADRID (AP) — Suspended Spanish soccer federation president Luis Rubiales has resigned from his post after a kiss scandal which tarnished Spain's victory at the Women's World Cup. Rubiales announced his resignation Sunday in a message posted on X, formerly known as Twitter. “After my swift suspension by FIFA, and the rest of the cases building against me, it is clear that I cannot return to the post,” Rubiales said in his statement. Rubiales kissed star player Jenni Hermoso on the lips without her consent during the awards ceremony after Spain beat England to win the title on Aug. 20 in Sydney, Australia. Spanish state prosecutors accused Rubiales of sexual assault and coercion after the unwanted kiss, the country’s prosecutors’ office said Friday, two days after Hermoso formally accused him of sexual assault. He had already been suspended from his job by FIFA for his conduct at the final. Rubiales said he also resigned as UEFA vice president. Rubiales said that he had told interim Spanish federation president Pedro Rocha — who replaced him when Rubiales was suspended on Aug. 26 — of his resignation late Sunday night. Rubiales, 46, is a former player and head of Spain’s main players union. He had run the federation since 2018. Also Sunday, Rubiales said “I am going to (resign), I cannot continue my work,” in reply to a question from TV host Piers Morgan on Britain’s TalkTV. Clips from the show were released Sunday.

  6. https://www.msn.com/en-ca/sports/nba/dillon-brooks-stats-canada-forward-breaks-records-with-39-points-in-fiba-world-cup-bronze-medal-win-over-usa/ar-AA1gvrGd?ocid=msedgntp&cvid=72f3942e22394e67b8c76ccd77b7ec3d&ei=21 Dillon Brooks saved his best game for last at the 2023 FIBA Basketball World Cup, leading Canada to a historic 127-118 win over Team USA in Manila, Philippines. Brooks was met with boos from the crowd when he arrived at the World Cup and left with MVP chants, as he poured in 39 points to lead Canada to victory in overtime, as Team USA struggled to contain his lights-out shooting from beyond the arc. Not only did Canada's win earn them their first-ever medal at a FIBA Basketball World Cup and their best-ever finish at the tournament, but Brooks' performance also re-wrote the record books. Let's take a deeper dive into Brooks' record-breaking performance. Brooks started off by scoring Canada's first five points of the game and capped things off by scoring five of their 16 points in overtime, serving as the team's leading offensive threat wire-to-wire. Brooks recorded a tournament-high 39 points to go along with five assists, four rebounds, two blocks and a steal. His big night came on an efficient 12-of-18 shooting from the field, 7-of-8 from the 3-point line and 8-of-10 at the free throw line. His 39 points also put his name in the Canadian basketball record rooks, eclipsing Carl Ridd's record for the most points scored by a Canadian in a FIBA World Cup game. Ridd's record stood for 69 years, scoring 37 points against the Phillippines in 1954. Brooks' lights-out shooting from the 3-point line put his name alongside Kevin Durant as the only other player to hit seven 3-pointers in a medal game. Durant achieved the feat in the final of the 2010 FIBA Basketball World Cup. In securing Canada's first-ever win over Team USA in FIBA Basketball World Cup history, Brooks also holds the record for most points scored in a medal-winning game. Brooks' 39 points are tied with Rondae Hollis-Jefferson (vs. USA) and Karl-Anthony Towns (vs. Puerto Rico) for the highest-scoring performance at the 2023 FIBA Basketball World Cup. His bronze medal heroics also have him tied for the 11th-highest single-game performance in FIBA Basketball World Cup history.

  12. I've had an Industrial First Aid Ticket, or equivalent since I was 19 years old.-granted there have been gaps in the time since, when I was not certified. I've worked in health care, on and off for quite sometime- I've seen the results of stupidity, and bad safety practices I've been to too many accident scenes, both at work and just driving around, to ever be cavalier about safety. Telling a guy that it looks like his hip is dislocated from hitting that pole, and their dog, that was riding in the box of their pick up; is now splattered against that big rock, is not a fun thing to do. Never had to tell a driver that the kids that where in the back died- but that is because laws were passed, and attitudes about safety changed. too many accident scenes, too much injury and a few deaths.
  13. proportionally less people die from driving in a car, wearing seatbelts, than riding in the back of a pick up. hey, you wish to run an increased risk of dying, feel free. Just don't pretend that more people dying is a good thing. also make sure your risk taking doesn't take someone else's life- or legs, like Hansen's drunk buddy driver.
