I'm currently watching the Indians/Yankee game and I'm pleasantly surprised how Cleveland is pounding out base hits, doubles scoring runs and keeping it simple. I'm not complaing about our bluejays by any means but watching the past few jays games it seems like everyone on the team is only looking to blow the cover off the ball and snag it out of the park.

Sven is a special player. He has all the tools and brains to be an offensive juggernaut, and he's also not a liability in his own end. The goals he scored yesterday are goal scorers goals. He waited for an opening and the only option was 5 hole on both so he played the odds on the fly, underpressure, in lightning fast time. Isn't that more encouraging than rifling a shot into the goalies crest? If he saw an opening up high he would have see that and went shelf. His ability to process that information that quickly and have that kind of patience also is incredible. His on ice awareness, hockey iq, vision, and the way he anticipates the play is extremely high. He has the potential to be an elite player especially with Vrbata, Bonino, and the Sedins mentoring him along the way. We have a very sexy player here.

It's fun to have so many exciting prospects in the system!

Baertschi and Jensen shouldn't be compared at all. Baertschi dominated the CHL points wise at the same age, and is putting up huge points in the AHL. He's just on another level..

If Virtanen makes the team he will be in good hands with WD playing 10mins a night in a 4th line role just like BOHO. He will also be mentored by the Sedins and other leaders in the room. I also expect he will be sheltered and brought into a winning environment. Isn't that better than being on a CHL team where the coach may not focus on what Jake needs to develop him into the player the Canucks want him to become?

Just watched some highlights on this guy and he looks like a very good pick up for us. Quick hands, amazing vision, and awesome play making ability. He has the skills to draw opposing defenders towards him as he quickly dishes it of for the best possible option to score. I am very happy, and excited to see what Green can do with Sven to get his game back on track too. I really believe we have a gem here, great trade. Would also like to point out that he was compared to Loui Eriksson when he was drafted, and one of the announcers also said he is like a "mini" Hossa who also played for the winter hawks.

Maybe Lack for Gormley. We could use a young stud dman. Or Lack to Philly for their 1st

For Jake to be on TC as a young 18 year old is outstanding. This team is stacked, and the fact that they chose JV over Dal Cole and some other speaks volumes about how the view him as a player. I think this year will be a good experience for him in a checking role. Its possible that next year he plays with McDavid which will be a treat to watch.

Not to take anything away from Nylander I actually think he will be a good NHL player eventually, but he was invisible 5-5 yesterday, and his defensive game needs a lot of work. He played well on the PP though.

Virtanens making some sweet passes and his vision is bang on. Whomever said this kid has no hockey iq is out to lunch. Beautiful goal, beautiful passing, defensively in position and he knows were to be on the ice. We got ourselves a future star suck it haters!

All this shark week has got me comparing JV to a young 7ft great white lol. Stealthy, quick, powerful, and Programmed to attack. If he can score goals and cause havoc on the ice that would be great. If he can eventually become a 20 ft, 2 ton big mamma then we have our perfect killing machine.
