  1. Love how Linden talks about knowing this fanbase is knowledgeable and then says that their plan has been the same for three years. They have flip flopped and got things wrong and think that no one can see through it

Oh really? He isn't a BS artist? "We're going to continue to build this team to be a playoff contender every year" - Linden after we qualified for the playoffs in 2015. Benning after we were eliminated last season - "REALISTICALLY, if you're asking me when the day be that we can compete with the best teams in the league. This is year 2, and by our fourth or fifth year I hope we'll be there with the elite teams in the league"

Okay so where are we? 28th and 29th last finishes with trades that brought in players in their prime or young players just entering it to try and quickly retool to be competitive quickly while failing to trade players at the deadline last year

      Keep drinking that good stuff

so... you think a team should set its sights somewhere other than making the playoffs? thats a good development goal in your opinion? If you don't think teams can turn things around quickly you haven't been paying attention to the rest of the league.

Philosophy change? Sure. Flip-flop? They've more or less always maintained (through their actions or whatnot) that their goal was to gradually build the team around a new group of core players while still being playoff competitive. Stupid idea? Perhaps, but nobody in management was under the illusion that they thought the team could seriously be cup-competitive unless you chose to construe their words that way.

Now they figure that their going to have to rebuild more painfully. It didn't happen as quickly as people wanted it to, but there's not much anyone can do about it now unless you think cleaning house entirely is going to make it happen faster.
