  1. I would be curious to see what an actual return package for Boeser COULD look like. Tkachuk definately turns back the clock getting a younger player that fits Canucks in so many ways. -Tkachuk is buddies with Hughes - can score -asshole to play against -helps and can contribute right now Im sure there would be quite a few teams lined up to take on Boeser's services while offering a good package. A few I dreamt up myself Buf: Cozens Risto Phi: Konecny Frost Min: Dumba Boldy High pick WPG: Laine
  2. I do like the Goldy for Lemieux proposal tho. Although now Gorton now has to sign Goldy which might be easier as Im sure he would accept a 1yr show me deal. Our 4th line needs a good mucker like that. LA thrived on having Clifford acting as a missile, same as when we had Raffi Torres. They just need to be harnessed into not taking stupid penalties
  3. He already had that in Kesler and Burrows split onto 2 lines
  4. Jake Virtanen.... If he comes in and has the effort type of year that Roussel had along with achieving 20g-25a... Thats my hope anyway
  5. I like Perrault but his age doesnt fit our age group. Rather have someone like Bryan Rust. Move JV to left side and keep Gaudette here JV-Gaudette-Rust Thats a speedy 3rd line that will be capable of scoring
  6. Not sure which D Buffalo gives up nor which one they DO give up on truely helps us unless we are targetting their prospects such as Samuelson. Not sure where all the toxic talks of Subban come from other than Gallagher. Cant deny Subbans talents tho. Would rather have PK than watching Pouliot, Biega, Tanev Edler-Stecher Hughes-Subban Not a bad top 4
  7. PK Subban I think Nashville signing Fabbro makes Subban that much more expendable. He would add that veteran presence and a bit of pizzazz and snarl on the back end. He also takes pressure off Stecher having to be that #2d and still buy him more time on 2nd pairing. Hughes/Subban could also be a great A few miles on his body but its also an example of a "bold move" that helps us.
  8. thanks for the insider info. the email I got was that they do sell named jerseys for football, not sure of basketball. would be cool to get a Hughes jersey tho. Hat tip to you sir for being there to see some good games in the many sports. UofMich usually has good teams
  9. Not sure about UofMich games but UND were usually sold out and are a hard ticket to get. especially when thats the only thing to watch in the city of Grand Forks. at the same time, Im trying to get a Quinn Hughes jersey. Ive been begging/pleading the sports shop at UofMich but they dont sell named jerseys for mens hockey. They only do that for football.
  10. Gotta start giving Yale Hockey Academy Prep some props. Cozons, Byram Virtanen Shea Theodore Devon Toews
  11. Great interview and soundbites from B Campbell this morning. not sure who the D guru is in Utica but wondering out loud if there's any possibility to getting a Campbell type in the Utica staff to start mentoring the young D down there. a guy like Brian, that isnt too far removed from the game and is in tune to the new skilled D types could prove beneficial
  12. In that sense, can Dahlen still join WHC? Alot of miles on that bidy but worth it for development. Eventually these guys beed to be simply shut down to get the opportunities to hit the weight rooms
  13. Not to mention Dahlen ripped it up for Allsvensken. Petrus Palmu is rumored to be rookie of the year in Liiga
  14. As far as the subject in this thread.... I can't wait to see Gaudette perform on the world stage like this and hope his coach takes the reins off and that he does well.... That whole Team NCAA USA is going to be awesome
  15. I too am excited to see how the semi-pro's or the next tier of players stacks up. It used to always be like that but for some reason the Russians would always sneak their pro's onto their Olympic teams and clean house. Programs like Moscow Dynamo or Red Army were the elite teams long before KHL and these guys lived, breathed, ate and slept together for years. Where as Canada and US would be scraping players from wherever they could just to shoe-string a team together. Then came '98 Olympics and we were finally allowed to put our pros into the tourney. Now with the different ways Canadians/Americans train, I'm curious that there should be a better selection of talent other than retired has beens that have all had serious injuries and playing out their years oversea's. Heck, our WJC teams could probably rock their arse's....ice that team. Of course I'm going to root for Canada. I would cheer for my over-weight neighbour if he was put onto the ice and I would wish him all the luck but is he the right choice? NO!!
  16. I would if they put some better talent than this on the ice. I get the message you're trying to tell me but this is Olympics....not Spengler Cup. Surely there are better players swirling around NCAA. US went out and are taking a chance on their talent in NCAA.
  17. Used to love it whenever Hannibal would test the purity of a bag of "China White" by cutting it open and getting a HUGE finger full and jamming it in his teeth. "Ya, that's definately China White."
  18. Hope we can get higher than a 4th for him tho
  19. Another guy I also hope has a monster year, signs and joins Comets is Will Lockwood, and possibly Palmu depending on his contract with TPS. For all the crap and abuse guys like Benning and Linden have taken, they sure put together a nice future to this team. Thinking about it.... Was there a better guy for the job than Linden? He has been the ultimate PR guy telling fans to "chill out", "relax", "we're hopefull", all while Benning is out husslin and bussing and building this team from the ground up.
  20. I'm surprised more ppl haven't been tripping over themselves after seeing Lind being compared to Benn. Would be freakin sweet if that did happen tho. If He can grow another inch and squeeze in another 15 lbs of strength, look out!! After seeing guys like Lind, Gadjovich and DiPietro churn out the weekend they just had, I'm hoping Benning and Co start hoarding 2nd/3rd picks like a kid hoards xmas presents. Just imagine what life would've been like had previous dudes like Nonis and Gillis did the same with all of their picks they pissed away in the past.
  21. I'm sure they give him a good look too but they might decide to send him down to play top minutes instead of 10 mins/ and healthy scratches
  22. And so might Mtl or Pitts provided they got .9k in cap space. The allure here was Burmistrov connection to Newell. If Newell says we can do without during coach/management huddle meetings then he is gone. After all we have Horvat Hank Sutter Gagner Chaput Along with Gaunce coming back and the possibilities of Granlund sliding back to center in a pinch.
