Oilers future is so overrated it's ridiculous, didn't we hear all the time about how great the Oilers will be back when they drafted Gagner like 4/5 years ago and they still suck? also have you seen the major drop off in Yakupov game after his concussion? it had many scouts doubting him and Schultz is far from a lock to being a star in the NHL, college hockey to the NHL is a major jump and the Oilers will be throwing him into the fire, how well did that work out for MPS? Oilers biggest selling point is that they suck and get high draft picks and they'll be this destiny team, where is their Crosby or Malkin? they don't have any generational talent. A good comparison I think to what the Oilers may be is where the Hawks are at now, not the Hawks team that won the cup but the smaller team with good players that they are today, hardly a destiny team.

really? Oilers are so small and soft they make the Canucks look like bullies! Oilers will have a hard time matching up to teams with their small size and softness, Canucks aren't even a small or soft team and we had a tough time in the playoffs, Oilers would get killed and they don't have solid vets to help lead them. Oilers are the last of the Canucks worries, LA and others are a much bigger concern than the freaking Oilers.

AV develops players just fine go look at some of the players that have develop under him, hell even Hodgson played better under AV coaching then he did in Buffalo. Look at how good Tanev is coming along, look at Edler, Kesler, Hansen... AV is a fine coach for developing players. Would've loved Schultz here and the fact he's a BC boy makes it even better but this didn't happen. Also man if I'm a Ducks fan I'm really hating the Oilers Schultz signing and the Penner offer sheet hahah Oiler really screw that team around.

I'll be more pissed next year if Weber hits UFA and Gillis doesn't get him, Schultz would've been awesome to have here and we need a player like him but whatever, life goes on, we'll be in the playoffs and if he goes to Edmonton well the Oilers can parade him around the draft floor.

when is the last time a prospect had this kinda hype and put on this kinda show and succeed? also if he does go to the Oilers then Oilers core is going to be way too soft and small.

when you have a chance to land a kid who would've of been a top 5 pick you do everything you can to land him for free.
