  1. Some deft UFA signings would be ok. The idea of Cole intrigues me, but yeah, if they could trade Garland to give them more space/options Id be on board for sure.
  2. Have you seen The Birds? Imagine a modern day version: The GEESE

      Ghostsof1915

Already happened a couple of years ago for me.

I was at the bank, just walking back outside. There's a planter by the bus stop. So I guess a pair of crows made it their nest. The female crow was cawing like crazy.

The male crow attacked me and clawed my scalp. I had to use the mask I was wearing (It was not long after covid) as a bandage to stop the bleeding. I was more worried about the old lady by the bus stop.

I got some rubbing alcohol, went home. Applied the alcohol to my scalp and took a shower just in case.

      Hurt like freaking hell.

  3. To CBJ JTM 11OA To VAN 3OA 1 of Rosolovic/Peeke UFA: Sign ROR for 6 // 6.5 million x 2/3years? ***** JK has stated he has been looking for a young C, BUT assuming he is serious about making some noise next season/getting the most out of JG etc. that’s what the proposal hinges on. JK has said acquiring C’s is hard. They could still draft a really good player at 11OA that they can slowly develop while JT steps in right away and contributes big time. Their PP w JT/JG/Laine/Werenski could be scary good. With the cap going up next season CBJ can comfortably re-sign Sillinger etc or make trades. PA gets Carlsson that he covets, and Canucks overpay ROR for a couple of years to help fill the void, perhaps add that experience/mentorship he has in spades. 1 of Rosolovic/Peeke fill a hole and manage cap. Love JT but this sets the team up long term down the middle w less risk. Never gonna happen but that’s my wild draft day scenario.
  4. With the cap going up significantly next season, I wonder if we see more 1 year deals?
  5. I keep saying this but in terms of toughness I would like to see the canucks target Logan Stanley. Its been out there that he wants out of WPG. If Foote sees potential to work with, he could blossom into that nasty tonplay against defender the Canucks need. Not to mention a season of him and Myers would be hilarious to watch. Canucks go from teeny tiny to giant.
  6. I do like him even though I didnt really think he was all that noticeable after his trade to BOS.
  7. Interesting question-there’s not a lot out there that spring to mind tbh. Maybe Lundell? Then go long term at a good cap hit? It would be a lot of pressure but having him would make moving Miller for more younger players/futures somewhat palatable. Personally w how deep this draft is, Im all for keeping the pick tho
  8. Makes sense to kick tires/see what he’s after but as others have said he cant be after the bag. BUT, if he’s looking for a change of scenery/get his name back as PA likes to say, playing with Hughes could be something hes after.
  9. Will the Canucks trade 1 roster player before the draft is completed?

@Ghostsof1915 @Devron Im ok either way-more just curious.

  10. target Noel Acciari. RH and very very good in the dot. Tocchett would love this guy.
  11. problem is Chevy is going to want significantly more than what you offered. Is that worth it for 1 season regardless if he re-signs? I guess that depends on what the ask is. My guess: Chevy tries to squeeze acquiring teams. He doesnt need to trade him now, and at the TDL he could feasibly have multiple playoff suitors after him. Ive also mentioned Logan Stanley in other threads as a possible target as well, if he indeed has requests a trade.
  12. They do, but given the situation and where he is at in his career, its probably best to wait till next offseason and cross your fingers.
  13. Ive always liked Dillon, but I cant see how WPG gains much in that deal. Chevy is as shrewd as they come as well-he will likely trade him at the TDL for a nice return given the type of player he is.
  14. in terms of fighting? sure. youre not moving in/out & side to side in hockey. probert fought in an era where guys just squared up and basically tee’d off on one another. now you see guys usually grab, defend by leaning back and try to counter one another. Burroughs for example is a go-getter but when he faced taller players, he struggled with reach.
  15. I could be wrong (going off of memory here) but I recall when I was playing with the buy out calculator, doing it now is the only year where oel is more or less off the books completely. And I think it might have had to do with real cash savings. OEL was due around 10 million this year and next. Doing the buyout now saves around 9 million in real cash, and spread out over 8 years. I was thinking he might bounce back as well, but the more I think of it the more I like the move. As long as the roster improves significantly and they plan ahead to have some ELCs slot in during the bigger cap hit years, we could see an overall much better team. I really was rooting for oel, but with Hughes on the team, I think his skillset was redundant.
  16. If you follow boxing at all, definitely chime in the [boxing] thread in off topic!
  17. As a former competitive amateur boxer for 10+ years, I can safely say height does make a difference. A shorter fighter has to make all sorts of adjustments and depending on how skilled/competitive your opponent is, it’s no ez cakewalk. Now take weight classes out of the equation, like in hockey. All things being equal, shorter guys (usually) have to work harder. The advantage (usually) of shorter guys is agility/mobility, but fighting through the advantage taller players have is not easy. So one hand I think you want a mix of both, but it definitely also comes down to the compete level of each individual as well.
  18. this and last year’s draft in general. 2-3 ELC capable players will go a long ways
  19. Im not sure what you’re thinking @HKSR but Im pretty sure we were all thinking in strictly hockey terms my god the paths people go down on this forum
  20. the number of times I saw 2 dmen on the same opponent, on one side of the net leading to back door goals tho… inner QH lmao
