  1. im willing to partially forgive some of Myers play last season because lets be honest-the d zone was an incoherent disaster all around. often you would see Myers aggressively pushing up to the slot area etc and coverage became swiss cheeese. he did look more comfortable under tocchett/foote. one of his weaknesses imo is defending in tight areas. when the puck is in his feet, often he aint coming up with it/other team gains possession. but he is really good n the neutral zone and preventing entry due to his range. and he is a solid dude. with oel gone we dont have to worry about that disaster pair. I do wonder if he is another bounce back candidate. heck, i wonder if he plays well enough he starts to wind his career down Edler style in VAN after this season. hes made his money. at this point he needs to be a reliable, PK duty, third pair defenseman. but im getting way too ahead of myself.
  2. This makes me want to puke: TO CALGARY - Conor Garland ($950K salary retention)- Nils Hoglander- 2023 1st Round Selection VAN (11th)- 2023 3rd Round Selection - 2023 4th Round Selection- 2024 4th Round Selection
  3. McLeod, Meier, Boqvist due too Mercer due next season What’s the deal w McLeod and the Canada WJ sexual assault investigation? They should trade Holtz/Boqvist while their value is still relatively good for draft picks. Could really help sustain their competitiveness.
  4. Id be very happy w 1 of Reinbacher/Will/Simashev. I think all three will be NHL d men. Reinbacher I see going before Willander, and w Will going to Boston U-I just love the development path he is on vs Simashev. Willander doesnt seem like a super sexy pick but I love the way he moves/plays off the cycle. Just a great all around game.
  5. Wood has zero agility. Zero. He’s got other great attributes but his skating/agility is a massive hurdle to overcome. Imagine if Boeser had to cover a ton more ice. Plus scouts say he doesnt compete all the time. Players like that you have to really sure about. Im not against the Canucks picking him, but he’s definitely someone you need to know inside and out. But if he pans out…
  6. I do Kampf. Always thought he was a really good skater and good in the dot. Would Graves do 5x5? Would Dumba do 5x5? Hmmm.
  7. Now that the Canucks have cap space I ponder how the Canucks can fill some holes. One idea involves PIT. I dont think the Granlund trade is very popular there. Canucks could use their capspace to take him on and maybe squeeze out Joseph Pierre-Olivier (who I think Myers was quite impressed by). What the Canucks would send back Im not sure. Or, a Garland/M. Pettersson swap perhaps?
  8. NO The last thing Canucks need are pricey, one dimensional players. Besides, Hughes already fills that primary offensive role Its like OEL all over again
  9. Q: if OEL retires at some point, does that relieve the Canucks of cap recapture? If so, does anyone realistically see OEL play another 8 years?
  10. your thinking is right, but I think the canucks need to target cap efficient players now. Barbashev im guessing price went wayyy up. what the heck are you doing leaving my boy Aman out of the line up
  11. I see a lot of upside in that organization. theyve made a number of solid moves. just goes to show how much having the right mix of players matters
  12. true. MIN has managed to have a super competitive team despite those buy outs.
  13. certainly possible, that’s for sure. any ideas lol?
  14. imo, the only way to balance something like this out is to have an elite and cheap player or two on the team. i wonder if we see another blockbuster
  15. wow, crazy news. I thought he might bounce back next season. crazy.
