My issue with Boeser is that you cant be a one trick pony. Year 1 when no one knows him he can set up for a Stamkos one timer. Year 2 and on, people know what you do and you need to diversify. That has been his issue. Hes big enough to be a more hard nosed player but I find he floats too much and wont go to the dirty areas to add more elements to his game.

Love how suddenly its all Ian Clarke. Reality is hes a great G and if he sinks its because of the crap put around him. We lost a good goalie. And understandably so. He deserves every cent he gets, but suddenly turning on him is just silly.

Agreed. He was all class during his time in YVR. Sometimes fate is not in your favour and he deserves a better ending than a buyout.

I thought the little bit of ice time he got in the post season he really showed he wanted to be here. I'm really happy at the cap hit and the fact he is going to outplay those dollars guaranteed.

Only way I take on this contract, is if its part of a larger contract with something else coming back from Phoenix as well to sole another need. We dont HAVE to go after OEL. But he improves the team for the next 4 ish years before potential decline. Adding another piece to compliment our bottom 6 and a good price allowing us to move off of sutter beagle etc will make me interested. Otherwise no.

What Demmers did was amazing. And he totally get in Vegas head and you could see they were a different team after 2 games that he stole for us, going into game 7 and then Vegas. They didnt know where to turn and were beat mentally. I do have to say though, its a bit premature to "drive Marky to the airport". It was a no lose situation for Demko. JM injured, down 3 to 1. There really was NO pressure on Demmers, and he could only inflate his stock. It was a shorter version of St Louis and Binnington. Binnington had NOTHING to lose. Stl were dead last and called him up. No pressure. A chip on his shoulder, and pure vision to show you belong. When it comes to an 82 game season. The dredges of January and February, and you are now a paid started you don't have the same mental fortitude which is essential for goalies. Not saying he wont get there. But too many times goalies have shown they can be amazing in short stretches.
