  1. I didn't think he would turn out to be anything special when I traded him to you. If only I didn't trade him away for Vanek?
  2. Was quite happy with the addition of Bonino and Staal but hopefully the addition of Shipachyov helps out Malkin who was having an off-year. Trade allows the team to roll 3 lines who can score and do everything on both sides of the ice. Trading more of the future but Pittsburgh is screwed after this season regardless...might as well go all-in.
  3. Columbus/Ottawa game earned Toronto a good amount of points today
  4. Pittsburgh open to trading our 1st rounder and possibly our 3rd or a prospect (that isn't a dman) for a rental at maximum retention. Rental could be a forward or dman.
  5. Happy to add some much needed bottom six depth after missing out on Blake Wheeler. Welcome back Nick Bonino!
  6. Hagelin available. Looking to improve team depth. Hagelin struggling this year but a 60 point player in previous seasons. Will likely perform for your team.
  7. Congrats to Williams, Conacher, and Sabourin on making Team Canada, Stransky for Czech Republic, and Matis for Slovakia.
  8. Nyqvist nearly made someone a millionaire in Vancouver with 4 goals.
  9. Pittsburgh playing well as expected. 4th line has been decent although would like to trade Fehr for someone better in the dot. Listening to offers on Carl Hagelin after a slow start. Also listening to offers on Jake Muzzin. Has been used in a defensive role with 3 offensive defencemen in the top 4.
  10. Mark Stuart available for a team needing a body on defence. Ryan Murphy also available or can include in a deal with Stuart. Otherwise Buffalo not really looking to do much of anything at the moment.
  11. Pittsburgh "ZERO CAP SPACE" Penguins Gustav Nyqvist - Sidney Crosby [C] - Phil Kessel [A] Carl Hagelin - Evgeni Malkin [A] - Patric Hornqvist Lance Bouma - Oscar Sundqvist - Daniel Sprong Michael Ferland - Eric Fehr - Dustin Brown Jake Muzzin - Kris Letang Derrick Pouliot - Justin Schultz Brian Dumoulin - Lukas Bengtsson Marc-Andre Fleury Jacob Markstrom Brand New Penguin: Michael Ferland Promoted Prospect: Oscar Sundqvist 2nd Stint Penguin: Eric Fehr - almost the entire cup winning team together for another season - tough to lose Travis Zajac and his 56% in the dot - we will definitely be in cap problem after this season
  12. True. My post basically states that the ASG doesn't truly reflect the games actual stars but rather arguably every teams best representative. If the game represented just the stars some teams may be over or under represented. In the current format players such as Horvat, Okposo, etc. are given a chance to represent their teams which in my opinion somewhat dilutes the talent pool as others have mentioned above. Players such as Horvat and Okposo are certainly good players but not necessarily in the star player category. Some players such as Panarin and Scheifele are left out of the game due to each team requiring a representative which as mentions dilutes the talent pool. Would be tough to argue that players such as Horvat and Okposo deserve to be at the game more than Panarin and Scheifele for example. Simply put, the game isn't a true reflection of the league's top talent. That said, as I mentioned in my original post, good for Horvat to represent the Canucks. Good experience for him in his third season and at only 21 years of age.
  13. tbh he shouldn't be at the game if the all-star only took in account the actual all-stars in the league. However, given that at one representative in needed from each team in the league having Bo Horvat represent the Canucks is a no-brainer. Good experience for him, maybe one day he'll rightfully earn a spot by putting up all-star stats as the team grows and he is given more offensive freedom
  14. Pittsburgh sent out a bunch of offers. Two forward spots remaining to ice a complete roster. 1 new Penguin so far...Michael Ferland 1 promoted prospect...Oscar "507 hits in the AHL" Sundqvist
  15. Patric Hornqvist available. Would like to free up some cap space. At least 2 million or so in savings. 60 point player that can do it all.
