  1. Ah yes, the rare and yet effective 27 man roster. Higgins Kenins and Prust way better than Baertschi? Higgins a better penalty killer? In all likelihood yes. Kenins a better hitter? Absolutely. Prust a better fighter? Definitely. Any one of those three better at putting up points/being a threat on a 2nd line PP, not likely. Take your head out of your ass and get back to summer school.
  2. His strong play leads me to think that it'd be wise not to rush him to the Canucks. Let him hone his offensive creativity in the OHL and then the AHL. See Bo, strong defensively but not getting the time to develop his O game.
  3. Unlikely that he makes the Canucks next year, but Bonino isn't doing anything to secure his spot moving forward. Stranger things have happened. Would be nice to have a positive development surprise instead of disappointment.
  4. Oh agreed, Forsling will be in the SEL for a couple years yet. I didn't realize you were referring to the Comets roster. I see one of Forsling or Subban filling a role like Weber on the team now. PP specialist, but only getting bottom 6 5vs5 minutes, being too small to contain the best of the west.
  5. More like Cederholm Subban Tryamkin Forsling Why put both trees and both shrimps on the same pairings?
  6. I grew from 5'10 to 6'3 between 18-21 not the norm I know.
  7. Don't forget Jordan Schroder's performance in the World Jrs, he holds the record for most points (overall) by any US born player. Also in 2009 Cody Hodgson outscored Tavares and Eberle. Hell Anton Rodin got 10 points in 6 games in 2010. I would say that while it does showcase some skill, it is not indicative of success at the NHL level. Nylander, Forsling, Domi and Petan may be tearing it up now, but it's guys with speed AND size and strength like Virtanen that help you win in the playoffs, especially in the West.
  8. He was pretty solid today, the first goal as was said was scored on a 5 on 3. The second goal was scored off an American defender just as a penalty expired, third goal was a double deflection pp goal. So not really Demko's fault. He made a minor mistake on the 2nd but the defence in front of him did a terrible job of clearing the net. Not a bad showing but not as good as against Canada.
  9. Oh and Forsling looks great! Replacement/upgrade on Weber in a few years. Solid 3rd pairing + PP ace.
  10. Conveniently focused on the last 10 years so you could avoid Jonathan Ericsson 291st (9th round) in 2002, Henrik Zetterberg 210th (7th round) in 1999, Pavel Datsyuk 171st (6th round) in 1998. NEVER claim that Vancouer is better than Detroit when it comes to player drafting and development. Having a "Leg up" in drafting 6th round players in the last 10 years is such a poor metric for evaluating a teams player development and scouting. Instead lets look at players Detroit has drafted in the 1st 5 rounds in the last 10 years that have played more than 50 games. Detroit: Darren Helm, Justin Abdelkader, Jakub Kindle, Shawn Matthias, Cory Emmerton, Joakim Andersson, Brendan Smith, Gustav Nyquist, Tomas Tartar, Riley Sheahan, Calle Jarnkrok, Tomas Jurko. (12 players, 9 of whom are on the roster) Vancouver: Mason Raymond, Michael Grabner, Cody Hodgson, Jordan Schroeder, Kevin Connauton. (5 players, none of whom are with the team anymore) Oh and those 9 players have combined for 130 points for Detroit this season, the other 2 have 21 points for 2 teams (one player currently not playing). The Vancouver draft picks have combined for 24 points on 5 different teams. You sir are an idiot...
  11. Nothing wrong with that, we have Shinkaruk for the enthusiam...
  12. The return of Boyle?
  13. 2 years 9 million.
  14. A second looks even better, from Stevie Y anyways.
  15. I don't think anyone thought that Gagner was enough to get Yandle, but with a 1st round pick and a prospect? Sure Gagner is not a 2nd line centre I'd want on my team, but MacT sucks more.
