It's not strange. You had to sanitize to get in the office. You are both wearing masks. He sanitizes his hands probably 50 times a day. It's about as low risk as you can get. It's ok to be aware but it's about as sterile a setting you can be in

It's what we did here too though. Essential business remained open but pretty much the same thing and ofc cases were super low. It was as everything started opening back up and ppl threw caution to the wind, we've seen it ramp back up. No we are at a crossroads. Do you impose a similar style lockdown again with the same poor outcomes (job loss, sanity loss, etc) or do you just try to manage outbreaks until there is a measure of control of the spread? There is no smoking gun of an answer on how to proceed. France and Italy are crumbling again too so it's not a rosy outlook worldwide either.

To further that, the higher the case load go without a significant increase in deaths, it lowers the overall mortality rate which is a key measuring point. Rate of ICU admission and mortality rate being low are likely why we are currently not seeing the economic shutdown that we experienced earlier this year. Many assume that the more than have it, the higher the chances of death or grave illness which is not true based on these rates. It kinda sucks that our government appears to be letting the virus run amok and putting the onus on the population to be smarter about their lifestyle choices during a pandemic, but until the system shows signs of being over-burdened, it's gunna be more of the same rhetoric.

Why do they have to police it at all? Just simply follow the guidelines. Stay home for the most part. Limit social engagements to a select few and even then make the frequency low. Wear a mask in indoor places where you can't safely distance. Are people that dependent on needing someone else to interpret the guidelines for them? They are in simple English. If you aren't sure, err on the side of caution. Instead people are taking liberties and more people are catching it - surprise, surprise. I'm willing to play ball with whatever the health authorities say. I don't have blind faith though and I have my doubts on the efficacy of mask but i'm willing to try because I don't want Covid much like I don't want the regular flu either and if a mask only reduces my risk of contracting it by like 5%, i'm willing to take that 5% protection. So until there is a level of control over the spread, everyone has to get on board or it's a wasted effort.

[Signing] Oilers re-sign Kris Russell

Still a steady defensive defenceman -
Good thing the players have a union so they aren't just flushed away when deemed not worthy to collect their mutually agreed upon terms of their contract.
-
I should have added, can't outright them to the minors without a cost to the team. If it were that easy, every team would escape their poor contracts that way. So yes while it's an option, it's not very beneficial to the team.
-
I don't think you can just outright him to the minors.

[proposal] Vancouver Canucks and Montreal Canadiens:
RonMexico replied to Patel Bure's topic in Proposals and Armchair GM'ing
Your assessment of the value of the Canucks pieces you are offering is too high. Even besides that, Canucks need to move salary out to sign him to the big money and term he appears to be looking for. -

It's not as simple as a GM buying out a contract and that's it. Ownership has to approve to pay someone for not being there. Just think for a second every time you go ask your boss to spend $3 for a box of pens and the friction you get for that. Now pretend you are a GM and go ask the owner to pay someone 1, 2, 3M or more to go away....see how well that conversation goes.

[Report] Troy 'Tony' Stecher Not Qualified

No QO and not going to be offered anything spells the end of the line. -
[Report] Troy 'Tony' Stecher Not Qualified
RonMexico replied to awalk's topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
Many fans are obsessed with the fringe. It's the cheer for the underdog mentality. Sure Troy was a serviceable player but I bet this team has other defencemen who can slot in and provide the same or maybe more - maybe less too but gambling that you can at least replace what you have internally is the name of the game right now. -

The Stechers of the league are all hitting the open market because of the flat cap. There are casualties on every team. -
