  1. Detroit is listening to offer's on their current 1st round pick (20th overall). The Red Wings are considering all options, including moving up or down, or even out of the draft altogether if the offer is enticing enough.
  2. The Red Wings have begun preparations for the upcoming Expansion Draft and Entry Draft. While the Red Wings are expected to stand pat, there are a few names in the rumour mill that could signal change in the organization. Forwards Zack Parise and Tommy Wingels, alongside defender Jay Bouwmeester are among the names that could potentially moved before the beginning of Free Agency. Team interested in adding veteran players should get in touch with the Red Wings.
  3. Detroit Red Wings Nominees: Hart Trophy - John Gibson Vezina Trophy - John Gibson Lady Byng Trophy - Ryan O'Reilly Calder Trophy - Ivan Provorov Norris Trophy - Brent Seabrook Selke Trophy - Ryan O'Reilly
  4. I don't understand the backlash on the kid, the number is not retired league-wide, nor by the Islanders; so what's the issue? Orr's #4 is worn league-wide; Howe's #9 is worn league-wide. He is wearing #66 because his favourite player growing up wore that number. Naslund was my favourite player as a kid and I wore #19 throughout my hockey days; same way kids now are probably wearing Crosby's 87, Ovie's #8 and McDavid's 97. Lemieux's 66 and Jagr's 68 are two of the more random numbers in league history and have never been historically popular until they were dawned by those 2 legends, so I understand that side of the argument. But to slam the kid for choosing the number of his idol is utter garbage, he's worn the number since the age of 15 in MAJOR JUNIOR HOCKEY, in CANADA. This is a non-story creating a buzz because the deadline has passed and the hockey networks (I mean sports networks) here in Canada have nothing else to talk about. Kid's been through the mud with the media many times already (most of which he did bring upon himself), but to continuously ridicule the kid is pretty low.
  5. What a deadline As much as the Red Wings tried to participate this year, it just wasn't meant to be. We are pleased with the few moves we were able to make a few weeks back and look forward to continuously working on improving our team to crack the playoffs in the impossible Eastern Conference. Best of luck during the stretch drive to the teams still in the race for a playoff spot.
  6. Might as well join the rest of the league and announce who's "available." The Red Wings are willing to listen to offers on the following: Zach Parise Adam Henrique James van Riemsdyk Tommy Wingels Beau Bennett Olli Maatta Derrick Pouliot Brendan Smith Calvin Pickard Obviously some players are a LOT harder to acquire than others, but we are listening to what's out there. We are in no need to make a move so don't expect any "give-aways." Phone lines are open (once again, through PM or Discord).
  7. Detroit's phone lines will be open up until the deadline if any teams are interested in making inquiries (PM and Discord - both readily accessible).
  8. REPORT: The Red Wings are wanting to wheel n' deal. Sources say the Wings have sent out numerous messages of interest to teams around the league and are letting it be known that they have the phone lines open to discuss trades up until the deadline next week. Get in touch if you're looking to make a move.
  9. @greensman Posted this yesterday right before the post with my updated roster. Please place Smith in place of Pouliot on my active roster. Thanks!!
  10. DETROIT RED WINGS Zach Parise - Ryan O’Reilly - Jakub Voracek James van Riemsdyk - Adam Henrique - Elias Lindholm Zach Hyman - Andreas Athanasiou - Marcus Foligno Dennis Rasmussen - Tommy Wingels - Beau Bennett Nail Yakupov Brent Seabrook - Noah Hanifin Ivan Provorov - Olli Maatta Jay Bouwmeester - Brendan Smith Troy Stecher John Gibson Calvin Pickard The Red Wings are searching for an upgrade to their middle 6 center position, as well as their bottom six forwards in general. Teams looking to move a 2nd line center or bottom 6 player should contact the Red Wings.
  11. Detroit activates D Brendan Smith from IR Detroit assigns D Derrick Pouliot to their AHL affiliate
  12. Bobby Lu was/is my favorite player, and always will be (check the username). That being said, I am leaning towards a no on this one. In my opinion, it should only be #16 up in the rafters right now, followed by #22 and #33 in due time. No disrespect to Smyl, Bure and Naslund, but the impact that Trevor had and with what the Twins have done goes beyond on-ice production. True Canucks in every sense of the word.
  13. The Red Wings are working the phones hard trying to facilitate some deals to strengthen their forward group. Sources say that Red Wings management will be readily available the next few days in order to hopefully finalize some deals.
  14. The Red Wings are looking to strengthen their bottom 6 forward group. Any teams looking to make some moves should get in touch with the Red Wings.
