So many people bashing the WCOH when they haven't even watched a game, like idc so what if they have a Team North America or a Team Europe what are you gonna do about it? Honestly don't understand... as a hockey fan Ill watch anything as long as it's connected to hockey.

I watched half of the Sweden/Finland game today. Why only half? Because I had no clue it was on yet.
Quite frankly, the advertising and market for this tournament has been atrocious. There is no excitement behind it. Sure, I liked watching it because it was hockey, but lets not pretend its a good replacement for the Olympics. -
I'm not going to justify that joke of a tournament's existence by contributing to ratings. Ads on jerseys + joke of a format = no support whatsoever from me. Want my time and energy? Stop making a mockery of the sport on an international stage. Bettman's gone too far and I'm not going to pretend it's acceptable.

I can't wait till the youngstars series, zhuk, Olli and thatch will put on a show. I'm almost as excited to watch players like laine pulj and tkachuk too.

Soccer is so boring

I respectfully disagree, basketball is much more entertaining than soccer imo, idc about how high the point totals are because that's what makes it exciting. So many times your heart is beating in the last minute of the game hoping your team can make the comeback it makes it fun. In soccer I've seen countless times in extra time where the team in has to be an asshole and get hurt by doing some random $&!# and completely using up the extra 3-4 minutes. That's just one of the many reasons why I dislike watching it.
Don't get me wrong tho I absolutely love playing soccer.

No doubt soccer is an acquired taste. If you don't understand or appreciate the subtleties of the game then it's easy to look at it and just see a bunch of guys running around passing and diving.
A discerning eye looks at a game and see's it as a boxing match where two fighters are jabbing and punching but ultimately looking for weaknesses in the other team's defense.
One of the greatest sporting events I've ever seen was the last game of the 2013/2014 Premiere League season where Man City and Man United were tied and were playing across town from each other at the same time. Man United won their game and figured they had the Championship won as City was trailing in their game by TWO goals with just Extra Time remaining. City had to win their game to win the Championship and out of nowhere scored two goals in injury time to win. One of the greatest games ever and one of the greatest calls ever...Aguerooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!
Still give me goose bumps thinking about it.
