  6. It seems like the Canucks management still haven't come up with a decision yet on who should be the Canucks Captain, so I thought I would make a list on who the top 5 candidates are at this very moment. Honorable mentions to Brandon Sutter, Derek Dorsett, Darren Archibald, and Brock Boeser. Before I begin I should lay out some ground rules: 1. I will not include any goalies. While it could very well happen the odds are unlikely. 2. This list will not mention who should be the 2 Assistant Captains. 3. Any players that are injured at the moment will not be featured on here. With that being said, lets begin. #5: TYLER MOTTE Tyler Motte has been on a roll since the Canucks acquired him. Ever since they lost tons of grit and leadership from Chaput, Megna, Skille, and Dowd, Motte has come in and helped them. After getting traded for Vanek, he has shown to be the best Trade Deadline acquisition from this year and is on an 82 goal pace. At only 23 he will be a dominant winger for years to come. #4: JAY BEAGLE After coming off of a Stanley Cup victory, Jay Beagle has been as dominant as ever. For winning the Stanley Cup this year and signing with us for 4 years, that should equal to 4 more for us. #3: LOUI ERIKSSON Many Canucks fans are probably wondering why Louster is on here. Yes he's a speedy winger on a great deal, yes he's Swedish and a former Bruin, and yes he has great chemistry with the Sedins, but what makes him Captain material? Well you see... when you look at active leading goal scorers in the league for Swedish players... he's at the very top. We knew he would score lots of goals when coming here, but we did not expect this much out of him either. This should definitely make him a good choice for management. #2: ERIK GUDBRANSON Besides being tall, fast, handsome, and getting points, Gudbranson is one guy who's not afraid to stick up for his teammates. On a 3 year deal, the Canucks will hopefully be looking to extend him long term. Jim Benning has gone as far to say he's like Zdeno Chara, and while I think he can be way better, that's something a lot of players wish they can hear. #1: JAKE VIRTANEN This should be no surprise to anyone who's watched the Canucks for the past 5 years. Jake Virtanen has been a cornerstone to this franchise and a quality leader. It's been his team since Day One and now, with Vrbata retired, Virtanen might finally get that chance. He's already proven to be many things in his short career so far like being better than McDavid and scoring Twitch girls. With Cole Cassels developing in Germany nicely at the moment, hopefully both of them can come in and be the next Canucks star duo.
  7. No one made a thread so here is a quickie. Go Canucks Go! *********************************************************************** Vancouver Canucks play in Kelowna The NHL team will end their pre-season at Prospera Place tonight The Kelowna Rockets are just a couple of hours away from puck drop in Prince George for their first of back-to-back visits to the CN Centre this weekend. Seven and a half hours south on Highway 97 the Vancouver Canucks and Arizona Coyotes get set for their Saturday night NHL Preseason matchup at Prospera Place in Kelowna. Hockey fans in the Okanagan will be taking in action from the world’s most prestigious hockey league as the Canucks and Coyotes wrap up their preseason schedules in front of a sold out crowd at Prospera Place. Former Kelowna Rockets defenceman and current Canucks blueliner Alexander Edler is travelling to Kelowna, but whether or not he will play has yet to be determined as these clubs shape their rosters for the NHL’s opening night. It is set to be an exciting matchup with two young teams building to become NHL powerhouses. READ MORE: Vancouver Canucks will end pre-season with game in Kelowna Headlining the Vancouver Canucks roster is a young sniper gushing with talent in Brock Boeser, followed by young stars like Bo Horvat, Elias Pettersson, Troy Stecher, Jake Virtanen, and Sven Baertschi just to name a few. Horvat (2G,3A) and Pettersson (1G,4A) are tied for the team-lead in preseason scoring with five points each. Look out for this club for years to come in the NHL. Headlining the Arizona Coyotes roster is all-star defenceman Oliver Ekman-Larsson who was named their fourth Captain in franchise history (Following Keith Tkachuk, Teppo Numminen, Shane Doan) in mid-September. 20-year-old Clayton Keller is currently leading their club in preseason scoring with six points (1G, 5A). The Coyotes are a team that is loaded with young talent with names such as Jakob Chychrun, Dylan Strome, Nick Merkley (will not play in Kelowna), Brendan Perlini, Christian Fischer, Alex Galchenyuk, and the list goes on. There is a lot to be excited about watching this team. Saturday night’s rosters are undetermined at this point as it is the final game of each teams preseason schedule and team management will be making decisions regarding their opening night rosters. Puck drop on Saturday at Prospera Place between the Canucks and the Coyotes is at 7 p.m. The Rockets are spending the weekend in Prince George before returning home for a Wednesday, Oct. 3 matchup with the Vancouver Giants. [GDT] Canucks @ Sharks

Didn't see a thread stared so; Canucks, fresh off an effort against Panthers, fly in to take on Sharks. I am not putting too much into this as it will likely be deleted Sharks battling for positioning in the playoffs, the Nucks, players are playing for contracts.
  16. 15-15-4 vs 14-15-4 When: 7pm PST on SNP and SN650 Not sure what the line-ups are at this point, but the Canadiens are most definitely in Vancouver to take on the Canucks. Some stories we're following: Brock Boeser is either part cyborg or part god, based on his remarkable healing powers. Game time decision. Erik Gudbranson returns to the line-up tonight, giving the Canucks some much needed size and grit to the lineup. Ben Hutton is sitting as a result. Shea Weber is out of the lineup for the foreseeable future for Montreal, but instead of sending him back home to Montreal (not Sicamous), he's been given a walking boot to trounce around in at Rogers Arena. Reid Boucher is in tonight, and hopefully he brings his steady play with Utica. Oh and the entirety of the Lower Mainland is under 10 feet of snow, with Wampas picking people stupid enough to leave their cars.
