Villareal vs. Celtic the next day. Yellow Subs!

Prepare to be McGeady'd! Came on at the weekend for the final 30 minutes and set up two goals with good crosses.

I'd also like to mention this in case you check the score by accident: although the Celtic game won't be shown on the main TSN channel tomorrow, it is being played tomorrow, so stay away from websites if you want to avoid the score.

I believe that match will be only shown live on TSN2, I can't seem to find a replay time.

According to my digital box: 9:30AM Wednesday morning for the replay on the main TSN channel. Hopefully it will be available for download. Otherwise I'll be taping it and watching it Wednesday evening. <_<

Thanks for the heads up Eirenuck. TSN's playing the game at 12:30 (afternoon) on their main channel on Wednesday. I would've blissfully seen the score somewhere if I didn't know to watch out.

btw, I've noticed that McGeady's not starting lately in favour of Hartley I think who has looked pretty good himself in the glimpses I've seen. I may have the wrong player in mind. Wasn't McGeady the player of the year last year in Scotland?

Just tape from TSN2 at 11:30. It's free at the moment on channel 147 on the digital box.

McGeady's not been starting because, apparently Gordon Strachan now has a rotation policy. So Shaun Maloney has been playing in his place. My predictions are Celtic 2 - 1 Villareal. Celtic'll start well but Villareal will score late on to make it a nervy finish.

Great bounce back game for the Gunners. What better way to get over that embarrassing loss at the Emirates than to beat Porto 4-0

I had the Eastern times in my head and missed the Zenit/Madrid game. Too bad, it looked like a good game.

His foot was caught. The player (Llorente I think) exagerated but it was a legitamate foul. Senna's free kick was sublime.

Celtic fans should be complaining that they don't attack enough on the road. That's their real problem. They created some chances after the goal but it was a case of too little too late.

Disappointing loss for Celtic. They had some chances and didn't convert, but I'm not entirely convinced Villareal deserved to win.

Good free kick by Senna though. Boruc had a brilliant match as well.

I agree that Celtic should be more attack-minded away from home.

Although I thought it was successful enough in the first half, I thought it quite unusual for Strachan to put out an experimental formation in a match of such importance.

Usually it's been a case of starting 2 of McGeady, Nakamura, and Maloney, but today he started with all 3 in a more flexible formation, with them supporting Samaras from midfield.

Ultimately, Celtic didn't convert on the chances they had, and paid the price. Hard to see them advancing at this stage having not played United yet, but a couple of years ago they really upped their game against the Red Devils- and I do think Celtic have improved since those last meetings.

Either way, should make for some very entertaining matches.

Well....what would you all expect me to say about Chelsea's result today? The typical excuse would be the fact that Chelsea are currently riddled with injuries (and Drogba had to be carried off the field today) at the same time, Cluj played with more heart than Chelsea.

Edit. My hat off to Cluj btw, well done.

Another ugly game by Spurs today but atleast we got through to the group stages, that's the important thing. It's really hard waiting for this team to come together but I'm glad their questionable start hasn't cost them today. Nervy stuff.

Good game for Liverpool yesterday.

Keane finally scored his first goal for his new team, and Gerrard netted his 100th goal in a Liverpool shirt. :)

And I am so so SO glad Benitez has scrapped the rotation system he used last season.

Ajax easily disposed of Serbian side Boruc in the Uefa Cup. They haven't played well in the Eredivisie as of yet, but at least that poor form hasn't trickled over to the Uefa Cup.

All 4 other Dutch clubs in the competition advanced as well, including Steve Mclaren's FC Twente.

Just awesome.

Funny there is all this Gerrard talk going on. My boss just got back from England the other day, came into the office this morning, for the first time since he's been back, and handed me a brand new England jersey with #4 Gerrard on the back in red! I'm so pumped to wear this!

Props to mr7 for the sig!

Ironically Gerrard is rarely pumped when he wears that shirt.
