I share my opinion on yourself as a fan and Chouinard and all you can do is send a handful of personal attacks my way? Talk about an easy way out of an argument.

I’m not calling you a puck bunny because you like a player. I called you a puck bunny for loving Chouinard for being a nice guy and not being a good hockey player. That of course is the definition of being a puck bunny, right? There are actually a few definitions of being a puck bunny. For one, my girl cousin was in love with Bertuzzi but she wasn’t really a fan of the Canucks. I could ask her a trivia question and her answer’s were always Naslund or Bertuzzi because at the time, they were our big stars. She went to games all the time, was it because of the love of the Canucks? No. Was it for the love of her ‘future husband’ Bertuzzi? Yes.

Can you honestly tell me that you like Burrows because he’s a good player? I’m not saying that Burrows sucks or anything. All I’m saying is that Burrows is not a top player on our team and there is no IMHO, real reason to be a fan of him outside of his looks and his hard work. Burrows is indeed a hard worker and he is a great penalty killer, and I know this is mean, but Burrows wouldn’t be on any other team in the NHL if it wasn’t for our defensive style and our focus on penalty killing. It’s just a hard reality of the salary cap. It’s hard to fit a player like Burrows into a lineup because he does not produce a lot, and there is always other players that can do his job equally or even maybe better.

I remember having this discussion a few months ago with her about Chouinard. It's no use.

As far as Burrows goes, I don't think you're correct in comparing him to Chouinard. Marc was a decent penalty killer, if that. It doesn't matter which way you look at it...the man was a flop. He was expected to produce much more offensively, and he didn't. Tough luck.
But I'm a huge fan of Burrows because, although his stats are relative to that of Chouinard, the guy works his donkey off night in and night out. I have not seen a more determined player in this organization for quite some time. He didn't have a great season, and he's the first to admit it. But all those little things he did, whether rocking the PK or agitating for the sake of drawing penalties, they all helped. They all contributed to the success of this hockey club both in the regular season and in the first round of the playoffs.

I'd love for him to renew his contract in 2009/2010. Chouinard? Not so much. You can possibly put up an argument if he showed any remote signs of actually giving a damn during the regular season, but I don't believe he did. Keep him with the Moose or find a GM who is willing to take the risk. Because that's a whole lot of salary going down the drain, and Nonis has admitted it himself.

And 7morrison_fan? He's cute. I'll give you that. But I'd rather see the 1.1 going toward something a little more worthwhile than having another pretty boy on this roster.

I am well aware of that there are lots of girl fans that aren’t Puck bunnies. I have a lot of girl friends myself that they are die-hard Canucks fans. But, again, a lot of the puck bunnies give the die-hard woman Canucks fans a bad name.

If this debate is still going on later, I will reply to it. But in the mean tim, I’m heading out.

no you wont have to replay cuz this debate is over,

yeah, puck bunnies give woman canuck fans a bad name and you know what i laugh at them, because being a puck bunny ruins the whole fun of hockey it just makes it into "when are they going to take thier helmets off" kinddia thing, becuase thats what my puck bunny friends say when they come to my house to watch canuck games, every day i go to school and they go on and on how hot some of they guys are on this team, i just say "i dont wanna hear it" and walk off

TonyG, you know me as 7morrison_fan or the really stupid chouinard fan...meaing you dont know me at all, so if some guy on the computer thinks i am a puck bunny, yeah it bothers me..but my real friends know i am not a puck bunny and that makes it better

so you think what you want to, and i will think what i want to...then i go my way and you go yours...end argument

What Part of I AM NOT A fU*KIN PUCK BUNNY dont you understand

i would love to see chouianrd improve on his play and etc etc, but i am not a puck bunny i dont care if hes cute or not, i liked him scince he came here and if he started not playing so good i am not going to start hateing him, so i will like him through thick and thin, if that makes me a puck bunny when he is playing bad then so be it, for i dont really care what you think..i liked him scince the start and will like him till the end.

I never accused you of being a puck bunny. And if liking "him scince he came here" is a feat to be applauded, you have my support.

I never did directly call you a puck bunny, so you are overreacting about that. I said that the reason that you like Chouinard and Burrows is puck bunny-ish and that I questioned the reason for you liking Burrows and ‘Chewie’.

I haven’t called you stupid nor will I ever. That would be pretty low for me to call someone stupid for liking a player for one reason or the other.

You say that you want this argument (as you put it) to be over, but your continuing to bait me?

Hmm.

Btw, looks and beauty are the only things that Burrows and Chouinard have. What do you think that I would have thought when I looked at your signature?

Who’s mad? I’m certainly not mad…although, if you continue to irritate me then yes, I will be mad.

some of you take your stuff a little too seriously. This is Chouinard you're talking about, is he worth a heated debate?

i tried being nice, tried ending the argument there, but you pushed it further so i have to be draged along with it.

first, i aint no puck bunny, its hard being a fan of a guy who you never hear any good things about, but what am i supposed to say "oh he tried his best"...when he clearly didnt, i know he can play better hockey than he showed us this year, and i am 100% positive that next year he will play better and will show us the real hockey he can play.

but i am not like some people, i mean if he stops putting up numbers i hate him...i dont care if he is the worst player in the world as long as he does stuff for charity and is a nice guy i have no reason to hate him, neither should you

That's what makes a puck bunny. Chouinard could be the worst player in the world, but if he is a nice guy and looks attractive, it doesn't matter.

I look at your sig and I see, "Go Burrows Go!" and it makes me wonder if you're lying to me about being a puck bunny. The only people that are fans of Burrows are girls, because there is certainly not a reason to like Burrows as a player.

First of all, I'm just replying to the part you bolded here when you said that's what made her a puckbunny. She didn't really say anything about him being attractive on her arguments prior to your reply (unless I missed something then oops), so technically you're calling her a puckbunny because she likes him cause he's nice, cause he does charity work.

Hypothetical situation: Let's say Linden stops putting up numbers and is the worst player in the world, and say a new/young fan who wasn't around 1994, but was around during his more recent career years happened to say she's a big fan of Linden because she likes what he's doing off the ice and because he's nice. Does that make her a puckbunny?

And anyway, I like Chouinard. I firmly believe that Vigneault never gave him the opportunity to be offensive. Why? Compare the situation of Brad Moran and Brandon Reid's first call up. Vigneault knows that those players are offensive players, and for them to thrive offensively in the NHL, he put them in offensive situations. He gave them 2nd/3rd line minutes while playing with Markus Naslund. He put them on the powerplay because that's where he can make use of their offense.

Compare that situation to Marc Chouinard. He already started off the year poorly because of injury, and when he got back in the lineup, he was placed in the 4th line. He never got a chance to show for anything offensively when he is playing a checking line role, with 4th liner minutes. He never got powerplay time until Taylor Pyatt got injured. The one game they placed him on the powerplay? He got a goal.

It's not like Chouinard is some player like Alex Burrows who hasn't really proven himself in the league before. He has scored goals before. Yeah, he's not a sniper or anything, but he was brought in and was expected to produce offensively. How can you produce offensively when in your first few games, you're already getting 4th line minutes and was never really bumped up during line juggling just to see how well you'd do with more offensively talented players. :\

I agree. Is there something wrong with wanting a player to stick around aside from what they actually can get done on the ice in six months? Yes, it's a "what have you done for me lately" sport/league, but there's gotta be more leeway than that when it comes to having favourite players. I think personality (albeit shown through the media) speaks volumes.

As for the whole physical appearance thing, I say it's just an added bonus (the cherry on top of a great sport if you will) - and so what if it gets a few more women to tune in? If the organization can put out a good product, those extra viewers can grow to like the game later, plus it's kinda fun to be gushing over them - kind of like an inside joke, even if it just makes everyone else eye roll.

Read Josh Plummer's blog. He's an insider who knows how popular Pyatt (and Cowan, for that matter) is around the city and he hasn't criticized the fans for it, in fact, he treats their celebrity status as just a lighter aspect to the this year's team. You know, vote Rory.
