From Moose Website:
LOOSE PUCKS: Moose RW Jesse Schultz, who has gone 11 games without scoring a goal, was taken off the power play and benched during the third period ... Moose RW Brandon Reid sat out for the fifth time in eight games since C Marc Chouinard was re-assigned by the parent Vancouver Canucks ... Speaking of the Canucks, director of player personnel Lorne Henning was in town the past few days to evaluate the talent on the roster with Moose general manager Craig Heisinger. (So he saw Hansen when he was playing well  )
Raymond news:
College all-star continues education by learning from Moose veterans
By KEN WIEBE -- Sun Media
Mason Raymond checked out of college early, so the Manitoba Moose figure they will help the speedy forward continue his education by placing his locker-room stall next to captain Mike Keane.
It may not seem like a big deal to some but make no mistake, it's no accident the newest addition to one of the hottest teams in the American Hockey League is seated beside a three-time Stanley Cup winner.
"It's definitely an experience. To be able to sit beside a guy who has got that on his resume is something else," said Raymond, who signed an amateur tryout offer with the Moose on Monday.
Raymond, who was the Vancouver Canucks second-round (51st overall) pick in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft, is looking forward to getting his professional career started after spending two successful seasons with the University of Minnesota-Duluth Bulldogs.
"It came together quite quickly," said Raymond. "I'm excited about the upcoming challenge."
Raymond was one of those slightly off-the-radar selections by the Canucks after they watched him produce 41 goals and 82 points to help the Camrose Kodiaks win the Alberta Junior Hockey League title and advance to the final of the Royal Bank Cup.
Since that time, the 6-foot, 170-pound left-winger from Calgary racked up 25 goals and 74 points in 79 NCAA games and perhaps equally important, added 10-to-15 pounds of muscle to his frame. (He is now 182)
"It's key to not get knocked off the puck," said Raymond, who had 14 goals and 46 points in 39 games this year and was named to the WCHA first all-star team. "I like to think of myself as a well-rounded player, but there's always room for improvement. To be able to come here and be part of this team, there are really no words to describe it. It's an honour.
"I was looked upon at Duluth to be a go-to guy, but hopefully I can get in the lineup here and help out any way that I can."
Moose head coach Scott Arniel got a glimpse of Raymond the past few days and don't be surprised if the youngster gets into the lineup some time this weekend against the Grand Rapids Griffins. (They play them Friday)
"I know that he can skate and he's got some good size to him," said Arniel. "We've heard lots of good things about his competitiveness and about him going into traffic to score goals."
