If Grabner needs a good playmaking center Nonis's incentives to draft a big, playmaking Canadian center just got a lot larger.  It would help Grabner and our entire team long term.  The Canadian center should also be a good leader, so when Naslund and his following captain leave we have someone within the system who can step up.  This would be a few years down the line, but hey, we must always be prepared lol.  Two centers that come to mind are Sutter and Hamill (not sure about there leadership but they seem obtainable, Hamill a little less likely but Sutter is probable).

What is this hard on for drafting "Good Canadian Kids" . .

"Oh My Bloody Hell!" it's happened, it's really happened Don Cherry has finally figured out the instruction to his mind control devise and is using it during Coaches Corner, I told Super Man he was danger, but would be listen? Noooo! he just rambled on about Lex Luther and his attempt to take over the word . . . .

I am glad I missed Coaches Corner today, or I may be going around saying this like, "Those week Euros, who needs em" .

Anyways . . . What constitutes a good Canadian Kid?, a Family could very well move from say, Sweden when their child was very young, say 1, and have him grow up in Canada and everyone would call him a "Good Canadian Kid" .

Is "Good Canadian Kid" a code word for 6'2 230 pound steroid fed monsters who don't have a problem throwing punches at the first guy who gives them a check?.

I myself prefer skilled forwards who can take/give a check but would rather look to make a fancy play.

Hell, look at the Sedins, they battle it out in the corners . .is that not what the model "Good Canadian Kid" is suppose to be?, a hard nosed grinder who can put the puck in the net?.

[/Rant]

PS: It's Late, I am sick and my head feels like an over-sized watermelon that had a spike driven into it, so if anything in the above post makes no sense i have an excuse.

The radio feed isnt working for me tonight

So thats 6 goals, 1 assist since the incident.

Thats quite the response :D .

Yep. Lovely to see some fire. Exactly the type of response you'd expect from an NHL-calibre sniper! No one can argue that he's got no character now.

Maybe we should pick up David Schlemko with a 2nd rounder??  I have a buddy in Alberta who says this guy is amazing at creating plays and good smart skater..

hes good but hes a defenceman.. i think with our first 2 picks we should pick up a center with size and another forward and if still available when its OUR pick then ok.

Center has to be a priority but i still suspect that Nonis will trade for a NHL ready top six forward before the trade deadline. Just hope it doesn't cost to much!

Look, I only said Canadian kid as a generality. To expand on what I meant by that, Canadian kid was only a term in there that meant that he was willing to get physical and create space. The more space Grabner has, the better. Now if there's a european in this draft that can do that, I'm all for drafting him. That's what I was trying to convey.

I agree with what you're saying here, with the big ice in Europe there isn't much need for some players to open the ice up. Canadian centres might be more adept to that style.

It was short. Basically just says that he rebounded from the public criticism and scored 5 goals in 2 games. Good to see some positive media attention.
I think either the Sun or the Province should do an article on the prospects. Just an informative article on how each prospect is doing. Like toxics first page article. Actually, toxic why don't you just offer to right an article yourself, send it in and see what they think. I think it would be interesting and the prospects would receive more widespread recognition.

This draft is all about quantity over quality, so we shouldn't be doing 2 for 1 deals with our draft picks.

If you don't like talking about the draft, just don't post, go somewhere else and read whatever you desire, but don't come here complaining just to get your post count higher or look like you know something about hockey.

I say we discuss the possibly of trading our 3rd and 1st pick so that we can move higher up in the draft to get Grabner's son.

Grabner with his 6 goals in 3 games now has 32goals in 47games, giving him the 2nd best goals per game(tied with Reid Jorgensen, 39 in 57) and behind Colton Yellowhorn (39 in 54)

Edler's a +1 with 2 SOG. Hansen isn't in the lineup.
