That would be a mean mother $%&# of a line.

All the playoff series Junior, AHL, NHL all start at the same time?

Bieksa/ Rahimi pairing would be mean as ****.

Hence why the Canucks have not signed Jaffray to a contract yet. The top 6 forward positions for the Moose next year could be filled with youth prospects. I like Jaffray but as of right now this is what the team could look like:

Moran is signed
Hansen is signed
Simek will sign
Grabner will sign
Reid is signed
Goren is still signed
Chouinard could be there for salary cap purposes

Well thats' the thing, I doubt the Moose want to have an "all youth" team. They want to/need to be a very competitive team and still need to bring in fans and make a profit. Those kids will need leaders and I highly doubt any of them will put up the numbers from this year in junior then traslate that into PRO right away.

I believe JJ has not signed because he may want to wait until the end of the season to see if another team will go after him and/or a "bidding war".

- They say that everything happens for a reason - I'm still waiting - They say the good die young - I guess that's why you were chosen -

No, WHL start this weekend, NCAA playoffs are already a week and so into them.

The AHL Regular season for the Moose ends on the 14th of April. The Canucks last Regular season game is April 8th.

True but having Moran, Goren, Chouinard, and Reid down there not to mention JJ Hunter stated he wants to stay with the Moose. One can find vet AHLers to add to a roster, OH and I forgot Raymond and Genoway too. THey are stacked, I can't see how Grabner won't put up #'s down there as long as he has someone to feed him the puck.

Well First I don't believe Reid will be back. It appears he is being benched every game now. (The "VET" rule isn't helping either. Moran should be back, but I don't know the details of Goren's contract. I could see the Canuck's wanting to give Hansen,Raymond,Grabner and Simek a spot on the Moose before Hunter, who could just be expendable. He will be 27, and I could pretty much write him off since he has little potential, and has put up very average #'s all his career.

That's what I mean, Hunter has no value for the Canucks but still has value for the Moose. Just like Keane, Brown, they need their roll players too. Having a youth core down there isn't going to hurt them, as long as they are surrounded by the right kind of vets.

Oh someone save me from the trade Schneider thread, someone stated he's small then rephrased to say he plays small. Yeah and Marty Turco is 6'5 and has no NHL ability.

Who the hell are you? Quote yourself.

And while I could see Bourdon and Rahimi joining the Moose, I think that would the extent. I would much rather see Grabner join the Canucks than the Moose, and I think it would be much more beneficial not only for him but for the Canucks.

As long as he doesn't get Brule minutes. Look what that's done for him, it's been terrible for his development. If he wasn't 19 and could play in the AHL allowing him to have top forward minutes down there would serve him better than sitting on the 4th line or in the pressbox.

Grabner wil not be on the Canucks roster full time next year, he isn't a Brule or Staal. It would be the most beneficial for him to be on the Moose for a year, and learn what it takes to get to the next level.

That is provided he doesn't have an amazing camp.

Maybe, but it's pretty hard to tell. I would at least want him on the Canucks for the playoffs though, because even if he didn't dominate he'd still get a whole lot of experience out of it and I'm sure it would boost his confidence. He'd probably get a similair experience with the Moose, but this way we get to see him play 8)

If he does have a phenomenal camp, I could see him getting a "Bourdon"-- that is, 9 games in the NHl and see where he's at.

That is provided he doesn't have an amazing camp.

Who would you rather have? Schneider or Bourdon? I'd take Bourdon.

Simek cannot join the moose at the end of the season unless he signs a contract.

But Brandon will go far most likely into the WHL playoffs.

eh.

I don't really like the idea of having a bunch of young guys joining the Moose for the playoffs. 1-2 defencemen maximum would be preferred.

We have amazing chemistry, and are by far the hottest team in the AHL. Winnipeg deserves the championship and screwing with the chemistry could make it another 'maybe next year'.

I've been to a couple Wheat Kings games. Simek looks decent, but sometimes you can lose him with all the stars on the team.

Here's an article on Mason Raymond if it hasn't already been posted . The Moose play a couple of games on sportsnet in the first week of April i believe and seeing what Raymond brings to the table will be nice .
