There's a mistake in the bios below, Nonis was GM when they selected Edler.

Quote

With rumors on the floor that the Detroit Red Wings were eyeing Edler, Gradin convinced then-General Manager Brian Burke to trade to acquire the third-round pick that was used to select Edler.

Great, I've been waiting for this.

Here are some brief exerts from the Matt's writeups...
...has the potential to be a solid No. 1 goaltender in the NHL. ...will share the load with surprising goaltender Drew MacIntyre in Manitoba next season.

...shows signs of being a bona fide top pairing defender in a few years.

...primary asset is his lightning-fast speed and acceleration. He handles the puck well at top speed and is deadly on the rush. ...potential to be a 30-goal scorer in the future.
Quote

...creates a chance every time he’s on the ice' date=' whether it’s for you or against you is the only question. On pure talent alone, Koltsov may be the top prospect in the organization, with the potential to become a Marek Zidlicky type of NHLer.[/quote']

Quote

...listed at 6’0' date=' 185 lbs. ...has tremendous skating ability. Raymond has second-line upside although he could potentially be a good fit as a linemate for Grabner down the road.[/quote']
...is the epitome of a rough-and-tumble blueliner whose game is all about punishing the opposition. ...has top-four potential and could be a truly imposing presence on the Canucks blueline for many years to come.

Quote

...is a skill forward with solid all-around offensive skills. ...skill set could develop into a lower-tier second-line player' date=' but if his offensive game doesn’t round out as anticipated, Hansen has a very good chance at finding a role on the third line.[/quote']
...tremendous stickhandling skill. ...has the raw talent to become a second-line NHLer.

They also said Edler is 220 pounds, when he is more like 195.

And they said that he was 6'4, then 3 sentences later 6'3...

Holly f*** Edler looked great in the first period.

Yeah much better than the Oilers game. Looks like his old self out there, which is very good. Now I just want to see him lay some guy out like Pyatt did last game. I know that's not really his type of game but he's HUGE. Would be nice to see him use his size and smoke somebody.

Edit: Hiroshima did you get my PM?

Also..

Ellis and the Moose get shutout by Houston 2-0. Once again Ellis gets no help up front. He made 16 saves and from what I've heard from Moose fans the second goal was weak. Too bad...

It's funny how the two sources viewed the goal

Aeros site

Quote

Manitoba killed off that man advantage, but Weinhandl tallied his 14th goal at 3:51 of the second to give Houston the advantage. Weinhandl took a pass from Peter Olvecky, skated across the blueline and ripped a top shelf shot from the edge of the left circle.

Moose site

Quote

Mattias Weinhandl skated out into the middle of the ice from the left-hand boards and wristed a shot that fluttered into the top corner over the blocker shoulder of Ellis. The goal came at 3:51 and was assisted on by Peter Olvecky and Erik Reitz.

Ahahaha thats awesome.

Weinhandl has been great in the AHL though.

He's being used in an offensive role, so he plays well. Completely unlike what he was being used as before being sent down (a 4th line grinder). When used in the right role, he's effective.
Mattias Weinhandl: 2nd in SEL scoring 07/08, 2nd in playoff scoring 07/08. 3rd in WC scoring in 08 & 09 only behind established NHL stars, 16 pts in 12 games in 08/09 KHL playoffs (leader had 19 pts in 21 games). Invited to 2010 Swedish Olympic team camp. He deserves another shot in the NHL................Currently LEADS the KHL in scoring, 28 points in 21 games

moller keeps playing himself out of our draft position.either he does the small forward plunge on draft day or nonis might have to use another pick to secure him.[if dave feels the same way about him].

Should be a fun filled night of prospects action as CHL playoffs start, Moose play, Salmon Kings play and I believe the NCAA regionals start tonight as well. I'll wait for izabreeze to post his pics to confirm.

Thanks to mr7 for the sig
