Is it sad that Evan Fuller has more points then Grabby?... he's got 1G and 3A in 4Gp.

The fact that Grabner is being checked by Everets top defencemen and that Everet is backed by Irving perfectly explains Grabners play. Plus, Evan Fuller is going through a hot streak, I don't think that he'll continue at this pace.

No, no it doesn't. A player of his nature, and he hasn't stepped up his game at all, and is more of a defensive liability then ever before. He is definitely frustrated, that is for sure. It concerns me, although I question if he is injured at all. Before the playoffs started, he didn't play the last 4-5 games because of the "flu", although I wonder if that was to cover up a prior injury he may have had.

Anyways, his play right now is average, very very average.

Sorry, I should have explained myself better. It doesn't entirely excuse his overall play, but the combination of the things I mentioned and that Fuller is on a hot streak can explain why your comparing the two at the moment, which I believe isn't fair. To judge a player on three games while playing against the best team in the WHL (yes, on paper they are a lot better than the giants) isn't a good way to judge how a player steps up in the playoffs.

Well, the plus side of Grabners weak play is that he will be on the Moose sooner.

And that is Wade Flats in my sig, only because the mask is awesome, not because I think he should play backup to Luongo or anything.

And those videos of Koltsov, I love that celebration!

Grabner held pointless again tonight. Spokane won 3-1 over Everett and the series is now tied 2-2.

Spokane should have been done by now. Wake up, Everett!

Grabner really needs to step up. He has to be trying his best in whatever leauge he's playing in right now. He'll get his chance at the NHL/AHL but he has to work for it first.

Is it certain that once a prospect's junior team gets knocked out he goes to the AHL team?

Only if the player decides to make the change himself.

A better answer might be "if the player is under contract with the Canucks". Not all prospects are signed, but if they are, they would be obliged to play where they were directed by the Canucks.

Does anyone feel that Nathan Smith might yet turn himself into a NHL player? He seems to be blooming late as a potential 3rd/4th line center who can play the PK and is good in the dressing room.

One small recomendation Toxic. I'd like it if the Moose report had a date on it so I knew how recent it was. That's all. Thanks.

Just watched two Mayson Raymond highlights that really impressed me. On the Moose site watched a video of Raymond bustin' through the Milwaulkee defense to just miss a beauty of a goal. Then I went to the Chicago Wolves site and saw Raymond's spectacular setup of Nathan Smith's goal last night.

Anyone who follows the Canuck prospects needs to see these highlights... this kid has WHEELS and VISION. :shock:

Update from Gero Hertle

CSKA and Omsk both won their 2nd round series 3-2, Bjorkloven is 3-5 in the Kvalserien

Shirokov = 2 goals, 5 assists in 8 games
Koltsov = 3 goals, 1 assist in 7 games

any idea what Shirokov's +/- was this year? What's your opinion of Koltsov, "IF" he came over would you keep him or move him considering there may not be room for him on the roster and we know he won't play for the Moose.

Thanks to mr7 for the sig

I ship Koltsov off for a draft pick, or center prospect

Holly $*%

So someone @ HF digged up posts from the 2004 Draft......... pretty funny:

Vancouver Canucks – Cory Schneider is an unproven goaltender who has never faced any sort of competition. A lot scouts say that he has skating flaws. However he interviews well, so he’s a perfectly good first round selection. Schneider is years and years off if he ever cracks an NHL line up. Boston College is a good program, hopefully four years there will turn him into a player who merits first round acclaim.

C- is a fair assessment of the Canucks.

I believe there is reason for excitement on the 3rd round selection by the Canucks, however. Edlar is a Gradin pick (Canucks Swedish scout), and Gradin has had a tremendous success rate in picking prospects out of Sweden. A sleeper for sure, and hard to grade, but I'll trust Gradin here.
:shock:
As for Schneider.. we'll see.. I don't hold out much hope.

That just goes to show that this whole scouting thing isn't a science.

I always remember when the Memorial Cup was in Kelowna and there were a bunch of scouts drifting around. My dad went golfing and ended up in a foursome with two Bruins scouts (one was the head of scouting) and a Flyers scout. Between the three of them they said although the Rockets may win the Mem cup that there isn't a single NHL player on the team. Gorges and Weber are already playing in the NHL and Comeau looks like a lock. The pros are wrong often.
