Moose @ Omaha (Raymond, Hansen, Edler, & Friends)

Phoenix @ Salmon Kings (Ellis)

NEWS:
It is not yet known for the Brandon Wheat Kings (Simek) will face in the second round, it will either be Kootenay or the Hitman.
Cape Breton (Bourdon) will face Acadie-Bathurst in Round #2 in the QMJHL playoffs starting Friday. Acadie-Bathurst beat the Moncton Wildcats in Game #7 in double O.T to advance on to the 2nd round. Furthermore, Acadie-Bathurst was one of the worst teams in the QMJHL finishing 12th in the Reg. Season (out of 18th teams). They ended up with 77PTS in the Reg. Season, while Cape had 94 points. Keep in mind, Acadie-Bathurst just beat the #4 team in the first round, in double overtime in game 7, and should have a ton of confidence......Maybe.

Edit:, damn you QMJHL for being so confusing.

That makes things better.....
Edit #2:
f*** you new CDC boards for making things difficult.

"Schneider Shines in Playoff Crunch"
By Larry Mahoney
Goalies' reputations are carved out when the pressure is on. Boston College junior stopper Cory Schneider is becoming a playoff legend. Entering the frozen four, the Vancouver Canucks first-rounder had compiled a 12-2 record, 1.39 GAA and a .956 save percentage during post-season play over the past two years. He also had four shutouts. "He's calm in the net." said Maine senior left winger Josh Soares. "He's very good positionally, he's got pretty good size(6-foot-2, 200 pounds) and he doesn't overexert himself. You never see him really flop around. He has great mobility and he always squares upto the puck." Maine senior centre Mike Hamilton added: "He's so consistent. He doesn't give up alot of rebounds. He has played almost 40 games this year and he's definately been the backbone of their team. He's a big reason they've been so successful."
thought some of you might be interested in that

How are they stacked now that they have Grabner? This is a kid that hasn't played against men and had 1 assist in 6 games in junior playoffs. It's taken Hansen the whole year to develop and learn the pro game and you expect Grabner to hop in and make them better?
They are already an elite team in the league, adding Grabner for 4th line minutes seems absolutely pointless.
Havn't seen Rahimi play but I'm sure him coming over had something to do with Coulombe being demoted.

Coulombe being demoted has something to do with him being absolutely a sh*t defenseman and nothing to do with Rahimi.
As for Grabner getting 4th line duties, not bloody likely.

OMAHA, Neb. -- With goals being hard to come by lately, Scott Arniel continues to tinker with his lines in an effort to find balance.
If you don't think Grabner's speed and breakaway threat would help your team, you're being more than just a little biased. He would give the Moose alot of versatility. Grabner, Raymond and Hansen are faster than most AHL skaters. Jaffray, Goren and Schultz are not, they are cycle players. With Reid, Hansen, Grabner and Raymond, you get a ton of speed which adds a whole new dynamic your opponents haven't entirely seen yet. Hansen only had one year of WHL, whilst Grabner's had three, and that's part of why the learning curve has taken awhile. Overall, you're just p!ssed off because the Moose have to accommodate the 'Nucks prospect development. It's the same old story.
Arniel wants and needs more goal scoring. Grabner is always a threat to score and with quality teammates, great coaching and solid goaltending, he'll be just that. He'll stretch the defense. Rahimi will help anchor with some solid defensive D and provide some physical intimidation. His addition will help offset Grabner's liability. Besides, Nonis wants Grabs to get a sniff at the pro level to motivate him and that's the job of Arniel. You need to trust your coach more.

what else has been going for him as he's been playing in another MEN's pro league all year and playoffs
Grabner adds another potential scorer. He could play for the Moose or play for the S-Kings. Either way it's better than not playing at all. I will not post judgement on Grabner for his post season performance. It would have been nice for him to perform but it was the #1 in the CHL, not just the WHL. Raymond on LW, Grabner on RW.....ewwww scary. Too bad Hansen wasn't an Centre.

In another thread, the suggestion was made to perhaps create a new section of the forum focused solely on prospects (apparently the Avs board has something like this). As much as I love this thread, but it is getting large and cumbersome and it might be more organized if there was a single thread per prospect maintained in a prospects section of the forum.
There could be one stickied thread that is updated like toxic does for page 1 of this thread, so that there is a central repository for all the prospect stats and updates. Other than that, each prospect could have their own unique thread and there won't be so much cross-posting and debate in a single gigantic thread.
Thoughts on this?

Once Goren, Moran, Jaffray start clicking again the team will put up points. Grabner isn't going to fix there problem and he'll have no where to skate. Terrible timing to throw him into the playoffs when his confidence is gotta be low.
He'll be here I'm sure, but I'm not expecting this kid to be the savior that some people are predicting.
Coulombe was pretty bad. No lie
