srry if this has already been posted but im to lazy to read all 16 pages, does anybody know which of our prospects are most likely to be nhl ready next year and also which well get the 8 or 10 game trial period?

Grabner will get an 9 game trial period probably, or make the team. Bourdon either will make the team or go to AHL. Simek, not sure. Shirokov probably will go to the moose.

Grabner will go to the Moose next year.

He will get the 9 game tryout, if he can play as a top-six forward, then he will most likely stay...if not then he' going to the Moose.

I hope when they try him out, he'd be with "good quality" linemates... Not like, plug him in the 4th line, with 6 minutes a game, no PP time, and hope he becomes a star player. :?

Grabner Named BOSTON PIZZA WHL Player of the Week
Created: Feb 20, 2007
Calgary - The BOSTON PIZZA WHL Player of the Week is forward Michael Grabner of the Spokane Chiefs.

Grabner earned player of the week honours by recording six goals in three games during the week of February 12th to February 18th, helping Spokane to a 1-1-1 record in that span.

On Wednesday, February 14th, Grabner notched two goals, including the shorthanded game-winner, in a 4-3 victory over the Blazers in Kamloops. He was also named the game's 1st star.

On Friday, February 16th, Grabner scored a hat trick, including two power play goals, as the Chiefs dropped a 5-4 overtime decision to the Thunderbirds in Seattle. He was also named the game's 1st star.

On Saturday, February 17th, Grabner scored one goal - a power play marker - as the Chiefs fell 6-3 to the Kootenay Ice in Spokane.

Grabner, a 19-year-old product of Villach, Austria, was the Vancouver Canucks' 1st round pick (14th overall) at the 2006 NHL draft.

The WHL has also nominated Carey Price of the Tri-City Americans for the ADT CHL Goaltender of the Week award.

That's one heck of a response to being called out publicly by his coach, if I may say so myself.

you'd think the Vancouver Media/Papers would devote even a minute to recognizing this, but nope, who wants to hear good things about prospects? Lets stick with the negatives so people call into the Team 1040 calling Grabner a bust and that he should be traded while he has any value.

Look back to page 13. I think itzabreeze covered this already.

Anyone have any info on when Grabner, Schneider, and company might we see in a 'Nucks jersey anytime soon?

(A little lazy to scroll through 10+ pages... Especially going on 3am)

Depends on what exactly you're question is. When you say

Quote

and company
you mean the Canucks "higher end prospects"... no?.

Anyways. If were talking prospects in a Nuck jersey for a WHOLE season next year. I only see

Hansen
Bourdon
Edler

with the possiblity of sticking next season.

If were talking a prospect playing 5-10 games with the Canucks.:

Grabner
Simek
Raymond (If he leaves NCAA early EX. Kesler)

Maybe: Getting 5-10 Games
Sergei Shirokov (already playing against men)
Daniel Rahimi (already playing against men)
It IS confirmed that he will be coming over to the Moose next season, actually according to Nonis he will be in the Moose lineup BY THE END OF THIS SEASON, or how far his team goes in the playoffs, then come join the Moose.

I also wouldn't be surprised to see Cory play his last year in the NCAA, then turning Pro in 2008-2009.

My Moose prediction for 2007-2008

Grabner
Simek
Daniel Rahimi
Raymond (Quote me on this one  )
Sergei Shirokov*Will he or won't he come to NA?*

On the Edge:
Edler or Bourdon

I have a feeling only ONE Rookie D will make the Canuck opening day roster. Only because development wise, Nonis stated before Luc was sent back, that they would have kept him all season but, he would be put in a limited roll with around 9-10 min of ice a game. So I'll assume they wanted to put Luc (and I'll assume Edler next year) in a top 5 role with more Ice for their development) Next years D would look something like this. IN NO ORDER....

Mattias Ohlund Bourdon/Edler (put a Rookie with a vet)

Kevin Bieksa Willie Mitchell (Shutdown pair)

Lukas Krajicek or Kiril Koltsov S. Salo or UFA

(With Lukas's play in the last 30 games, I could see the Nucks taking a gamble on Koltsov)

*7th D-man Fitz... ect ect ect

- They say that everything happens for a reason - I'm still waiting - They say the good die young - I guess that's why you were chosen -

I think they had a mini article in The Province (as big as the Grabner being benched article) last Sunday about him coming back with all those goals after being called out in public.

But yes, more attention to the good things our prospects do would be better... :|
