Scratched:

Wade Flaherty: Injured
Forward: Tyler Bouck: Injured
Forward: Brandon Reid : Scratched + in doghouse/vet rule
Forward: J.J.Hunter: 27 year old, Average AHL player
Forward: Brendan Brooks 29 Years Old, Border line AHL player
D-man Shaun Heshka: 21 Years Old First year as a Pro, put up good offensive numbers in junior
Forward: Michael Grabner Just joined team, a good thing for him to watch an actually game.. get to know system ect ect

Alot of people say the Moose have alot of body's around, I tend to disagree.

Yeah you make a good point there. I think what worries Moose fans the most is that the border line AHL players will be replaced with young guns like Grabner. If both Rahimi and Bourdon (I wouldn't be surprised if he got some playoff time with the Canucks) are assigned to the Moose then they would definitely have a lot of bodies around. Sitting 4 F and 3 D a game is a lot of players in my opinion.

Anyways back on topic...great night for the prospects. Looks to me like the Moose are rearing up for a deeeeep playoff run. As of right now they are the best team in the AHL. Throw Grabner into the mix with some great set up guys like Raymond and Moran and the Moose may have one helluva offensive threat.

There is an AHL rule limiting the amount of veterans (guys with a certain amount of NHL/AHL games) you can dress in your lineup...

But I could be very wrong.

Slapyourself if you think Kesler will score 25+ goals, he just doesn't have the offensive skill.

"What is the AHL's "veteran rule"?
In the AHL, player development is a top priority. Therefore, a limit has been set on the number of "veterans" a team may dress for a game. The AHL considers a "veteran" any player who has played, as of the start of the season, more than 260 regular-season games combined in the AHL, NHL, IHL, or any European elite league.

In 2006-07, teams may dress a maximum of 17 skaters (plus two goaltenders) for a regular-season AHL game. Of these 17 skaters, no more than five may be classified as "veterans."

Moose vets... I think......

Reid
Tyler Bouck
Flats (I don't think counts as a vet because he is a goalie)
Keane
Chouinard
Brad Moran
Tremblay
Goren

And Moran, Tremb, Goren, Keane and Chewy all take precedent over Reid. :D

Good for him, better for his development to be dominating in the ECHL rather than struggling in the AHL.

True, I should really go to the Salmong King games.

I've only been to one, and it was a pathetic 5-0 loss.

Ever since then, they've been dominating.

I wonder how Sabby would have done with the Moose had he and Drew switched roles, Mac being Luongo's backup, Sabby playing for Manitoba.

BTW, what did we give up for Mac? Was it a 5th?

He's 23. If Sabby decides to not re-sign here, Maci' could easily be the back up to Luongo next season.

We gave up a conditional pick for Maci'. If he plays no games for us this season, the conditional pick might just be a 7th rounder.

From Cape Breton fans Re- Game #1

Quote

Another good game for Bourdon as well, and he may well have had the save of the night! I loved watching his exchange with Bergeon... it looks as though he's on his way to getting into the Titan's heads just like we saw in the first round against the Devils.

Quote

Quote

Bourdon, definitely starting to show why he's so highly touted, physical, dominant in all 3 zones, and Pascal seems to finally found a role for him. Seems like he can play forever without getting tired.

Quote

Quote

Bourdon's been a different man so far in these playoffs than he was in the regular season. It's a night where a lot of Eagles could have been given stars, and it's hard to really argue with any selections, but if I was picking, I may well have included Luc in mine.

Interesting info on D-Mac.

Also nice to hear more good things about Bourdon.
