We gave up a conditional pick for Maci'. If he plays no games for us this season, the conditional pick might just be a 7th rounder.

Continuing on the prospect front, Swedish defenceman Daniel Rahimi, the Canucks third rounder in 2006, is expected to arrive in Winnipeg tomorrow and practice with the Moose early next week.
He'll provide depth to the back end after spending the season with Bjorkloven in Sweden's first division (one step below the Swedish Elite League).
'GOOD YEAR'
"He had a great world junior (tournament) and a good year," said Tambellini. "He's a strong, defensive-minded type of reliable player."
When asked what effect adding players late in the season could have on his hockey club, Moose head coach Scott Arniel said he's addressed the issue.
"We've talked about it lots here in the last two weeks," said Arniel. "These guys know there are a few other players that will come along, but when push comes to shove, it's not the time to be experimenting with young guys. The guys that have been here most of the year will get a lot of work come playoff time."\

DES MOINES, Iowa -- Through the eyes of Steve Tambellini, both the present and the future down on the farm looks bright.
The assistant general manager of the Vancouver Canucks is delighted with the season the Manitoba Moose are having as they try to lock up their first regular season division title since joining the American Hockey League in 2001-02.
'CONSISTENCY'
"The biggest thing is the consistency. To be good for a long time (in the AHL) is hard to do," said Tambellini, who spent the past three days with the Moose. "(To win 17 of 18) is really impressive to me. It shows that they're real prepared every night and that's important. And that's what you need to make a long run in the playoffs."
Tambellini is also excited about the arrival of Michael Grabner, the Canucks first rounder last summer.
Grabner, who took the morning skate yesterday but didn't suit up against the Iowa Stars, has been compared to newcomer Mason Raymond.
"(Grabner) has got that same speed and explosiveness," said Tambellini.
Grabner could make his pro debut tonight as the Moose close out a seven-game road trip against the Peoria Rivermen.
As for Raymond, who joined the Moose after completing his sophomore season at the University of Minnesota-Duluth, Tambellini said the youngster has made significant progress this season.
"We were very pleased he was able to take on a leadership role and established himself as one of the premier players in college hockey," said Tambellini. "He's impressive. His assets are obvious."

Yeah I figured Rahimi would be coming over some time this week. Good to hear what Arniel had to say about the whole prospect thing, what he is doing seems fair. Also Dortmund, care to share where you found the article? Thanks

Well considering every team never "confirms" which players are playing, I don't know for 100%. But, he has been in town for a couple of days, and I would think the chances of him playing tonight are around 80%.

I remember reading sometime back that they were changing the draft systems. I think that the winners of each divison would get the highest draft picks. So now that the Canucks have clinched the Northwest Divison, what will our first pick be overall?
