Relax on the Simek spam. No one's calling him a bust but you seem to think he's a Pavel Datsyuk clone, so we're trying to bring you back to earth. He's a highly skilled player who has a ways to go, as does Grabner, as does Raymond, before they make the jump. Let's not overhype a 6th round pick, over even a first rounder (Grabs), and just let him develop.

As for this year? The Moose are a little overloaded but perhaps Simek makes the jump to the "A" next year and who knows, maybe Grabner struggles this playoffs and gets sent back to junior for another year. I'll concede that Simek is probably better built framewise at this point but his team didn't bow out quick enough and Grabner got his spot on the Moose.

Slapyourself if you think Kesler will score 25+ goals, he just doesn't have the offensive skill.

I love this pic of both of them. I grew so attached to Luc and Letang as a dman pair during the WJC, it'd be hard to see them going against each other.

At least it will only be what...once every 3 years, if we continue with the current schedule.

Yeah. If we didn't have such a gigantic logjam of defenseman prospects, Letang would be in my trade wishlist.. Posted Image Just to see him and Bourdon together. BUT~ We have Edler and I love Edler.

Our log jam isnt that bad.

Bourdon needs at least 1 year in the AHL, maybe more, we want him to be an IMPACT player when he has a rookie season.

Edler could either player 5/6 man or even spend another year in the AHL playing 25 minutes a game.

Rahimi needs seasoning and fine tuning of skills.

Koltsov, who knows.

Well, considering the veteran dmen on the team as well, we have our top 3 locked up for the next 3 seasons, and Bieksa has a 50/50 chance of staying as well. That will only really leave 2 spots for prospects for the upcoming seasons.

But our logjam is the good type of log jam.. At least we aren't jammed up with horrible defensive prospects... most (if not all) are very promising.

We still have Krajicek by the way, and he ain't so bad, remember that dmen come into their own later than forwards.

Training camp will determine out 5, 6 and 7 spots.

 I didn't know whether to put him in or not since other than Fitz and Sopes, he's the only other defenceman who would be a ®FA this offseason, and I'm not quite sure of the chances that we'll resign him. :(

I wouldn't mind trading him.

Same here. (And this makes me feel bad since I actually like Krajicek :( Just not as much as ... Edler or Luc who can potentially take over his job next year)

Or that he gets more value in case we trade him. If he can't crack our roster next fall then we might as well move him before we lose him for nothing.

btw, not a big deal but it's the World Championships.

I'm going to get flamed for placing Brandon Reid here as a prospect, but I didn't want to create another thread because someone's bound to say "Why didn't you type that here?"

Anyways, how is Brandon doing there?
Humble pie is delicious :)

*sigh*

If you really want to know, then here it is: Reid will be a UFA next season, the Canucks are not planning to resign him.

Koltsov will not play in the AHL, its NHL or RSL for him.

Yeah, I'd take the Reid stuff to another thread.

But he's been a scratch in the last 7-9 games.

Ok production in the games he did play in, but he will be nothing more than an AHLer or European player.
