Well... the Sedins set that whole play up, and it was Ohlunds shot from the point. Not to mention Henrik scored the most important goal of the game when he tied it up.

And Bulis has been playing better than he has all season.

We would not have been in that position if they were scoring and defending in Ohlunds case like it needs to be in the playoffs in lieu of choking. Henrik passes to his brother with an open net, that should tell you something. They are more concerned about how they themselfs look instead of the team. Enough said.

If someone offered it to us, would you guys trade both of our top two picks for a top 15 pick and a late second rounder...?

NO, #34 pick could be a guy like Velleux

Raymond, Rahimi in, Grabner out.

Raymond playing with Schultz. Appearently, Edler will be playing with Fitz tonight. Dear God NO.

Check the +/- for Edler and Fitz. Try to give Fitz credit once in a while he is not that bad, been there for us all year.

Plante or Hickey could be a solid D man to pick up as well in the 2nd. Who knows what this year is going to do. Could be a 99 Draft but then it could be a draft with a whole wack of late bloomers.

Just my wishlist for top 3 picks

1st Couture/Sutter/Moller
2nd Vellieux/Plante/Backlund
2nd Mahachek/Hickey/Eller

Good list, but I would like to get the Defencman from Prince George in the later rounds he is 6'5' and weighs 237lbs. just for when the Salami comes into our end.

A +/- does really mean f*** all to me. He is what he is. He is what his role is, a medeocor 7th defenceman at best. I just feel bad for Edler for putting a 20 year old kid who played in the WHL less then 12 months ago throwing him into a Playoff game against one the the top 2 teams in the league, setting him up in a situation where he could fail and cripple his confidence.

Anyways, with that said Fitz does look better then Sopel at this point.... :P

Bye Bye in the off-season to you!.

- They say that everything happens for a reason - I'm still waiting - They say the good die young - I guess that's why you were chosen -

We don't need another defenceman. We have so many defensive prospects as it is.

Edler played okay. Fitz played okay. Both of them definitely did better than Sopel, but I guess they're playing well with the minutes given to them. If you give Edler more than 10-15 minutes right now, you might see him make more mistakes.

I hope we can draft the Sutter boy, but Calgary will probably pick him up.

agreed, but hes doing a good job filling the lower d role, he even made some nice breakout passes, and i saw him shoot the puck a couple times... and it ended being an okay scoring chance

i hope he stays with the big club... sopel needs to be sent down

Anyone find confirmation on Koltsov not being on the Russia world championship team?
And if so, perhaps a reason why?

People keep saying that we don't need anymore defenseman but when you think about it, we do. Sure we have Rahimi, Edler and Bourdon but after that... zilch. And the one thing the Canucks are missing in their current lineup and crop of prospects is a skating offensive defenseman. A guy like Zubov, Neidermeyer, Liles, Zidlicky. (Krajicek might be able to fill that role down the road, but as of right now he isn't a viable offensive threat)

I'm not saying that we should take another D first round in this years draft, but we do need to keep everything balanced. Taking 8 C in this years draft won't necessarily be beneficial. We do need D prospects and G prospects, just not as much as we need a solid C prospect.

As for the guy saying that the Sedins only care about themselves and not the team... They were sick with the flu through games 2-6. And when it mattered most they showed up and got the job done. Nowadays I think the majority of all the good ol' Canadian boys simply care about the raises they will get if they do well in the playoffs and win the Cup. Personally I see no advantage to drafting a NA player over a Euro.

I agree with breeze, I'd rather have Edler playing with Fitz as opposed to Sopel. Sopel is terrible.

P.S.: I'm tired, and I'm pretty much throwing things off the top of my head. So if my post doesn't make sense, well just take from it what you can.

Just saying we don't have an immediate need for a defenceman from this draft. We have 3 of our veteran guys practically locked up for 3-4 more years, then there's the 3 prospects you already mentioned, Bieksa and Krajicek (50% chance of resigning)... We don't really have to focus on getting more defencemen from this draft. Maybe like 1 from the later rounds...

Considering the development curve for defensemen is 4-6 years in most cases, i'd think we'd always be looking to draft defensemen. This years draft picks will likely start popping up around or after the time that our big 3's contracts are up. Albeit the hope is that Bourdon, Edler and Rahimi will be ready at that time as well.

In short, you never draft based on current need. You draft based on future needs. Unfortunately we haven't been drafting top-level centers since Kesler/Umberger. I do agree though that drafting anymore than 1 top defenseman this draft would be unwise.

Ive always said we need to use 2 picks this draft between the 3rd and 6th round to draft 2 Right Defensemen

our first 2 picks should be big bruising Centers
