agreed, but hes doing a good job filling the lower d role, he even made some nice breakout passes, and i saw him shoot the puck a couple times... and it ended being an okay scoring chance
i hope he stays with the big club... sopel needs to be sent down

I'm not saying that we should take another D first round in this years draft, but we do need to keep everything balanced. Taking 8 C in this years draft won't necessarily be beneficial. We do need D prospects and G prospects, just not as much as we need a solid C prospect.
As for the guy saying that the Sedins only care about themselves and not the team... They were sick with the flu through games 2-6. And when it mattered most they showed up and got the job done. Nowadays I think the majority of all the good ol' Canadian boys simply care about the raises they will get if they do well in the playoffs and win the Cup. Personally I see no advantage to drafting a NA player over a Euro.
I agree with breeze, I'd rather have Edler playing with Fitz as opposed to Sopel. Sopel is terrible.
P.S.: I'm tired, and I'm pretty much throwing things off the top of my head. So if my post doesn't make sense, well just take from it what you can.

Considering the development curve for defensemen is 4-6 years in most cases, i'd think we'd always be looking to draft defensemen. This years draft picks will likely start popping up around or after the time that our big 3's contracts are up. Albeit the hope is that Bourdon, Edler and Rahimi will be ready at that time as well.
In short, you never draft based on current need. You draft based on future needs. Unfortunately we haven't been drafting top-level centers since Kesler/Umberger. I do agree though that drafting anymore than 1 top defenseman this draft would be unwise.

In a way I'm glad Victoriaville sucked in up in the first round of the playoffs. If Velliuex slipped into our grasp in the 2nd round that'd be sweet. He was a physical force in the prospects game and at 6'5....could be nice.
Watching Stamkos in the U-18, my god is he going to be a good player. 2008 Draft already looks good.

Thanks to mr7 for the sig

Akim Aliu has attitude issues, he has walked out on his team TWICE.
No thanks, we do not need prima donna headaches in our organization.

by the way, kovalev is cut too, and semin
Semin was cut for a ridiculous reason, because he showed up a little late because there wasn't an earlier plane he could catch.
And Kovalev is a female dog.
We would be lucky in Sutter is available when we pick, methinks he will be highly sought after, keep in mind the rankings from 10-50 really mean jacksh*t as these guys won't be drafted where they are ranked (I.E an ISS 29 could go at 11th in the draft)
There are a lot of good centres that we should have a shot at, let us hope that other teams in the 10-25 have great needs for Dmen, Goalies, and Wingers.
It might be benificial if LA chooses our 2nd for next year....

They had MTL taking Veillieux
EDM taking Kane
FLO taking Esposito (that would be two players that were ranked 1st a couple years prior to the draft then fell (Frolik) )

The more and more i think about it the less and less i like the idea of drafting Hamill or Moller, we have so many small forwards in the system we need size and build. Plus, Moller is being listed by everyone as a Right Winger, not a Center
Hamill. . . i dont know how i could deal with having a 'tip in the system
