I have no problem with that what so ever, and tox is doing a good job here. I just don;t need to be told what I can say or not. Maybe smeone has forgooten that this Canada and not some Communist Country. It is my right to say that we need to draft CANADIANS FOR OUR TEAM, if someone does not like that just don't answer.

I'm just curious, why do you think we *must* draft a CANADIAN kid?. Do you assume that every "non NA" player is soft?. What about would you take an Canadian kid over a American kid?.
We already have a couple good Canadian kids in the system

Are you reffering to Bourdon and Raymond?

Good. I love watching Hansen play, especially when he has the puck on the offensive zone.
"No Kyle! Its UM-burger, not HAM.

and a graduated prospect in Ryan Kesler, the most underated player on the team and will be the most desireable next year, fighting Jerom Iginla. Old I know but boy do I miss him:

( I’m not really Anti-Euro, but I would like us to draft a big Canadian center man, or at least a center man that has played the North American game for at least a year. Preferably MacMillan or Sutter, and trust me, I know that Calgary’s probably going to draft him, but I can wish, can’t I?

Daniel Rahimi is a big bruising bad donkey, but he's European, we should trade him.
Hansen layed out Daryl Sydor ( A canadian), but he's Danish so that means he's a p*ssy.
Esposito plays a passionless selfish game without any edge or grit, we should draft him, he's Canadian.
The Euro Argument is flawed, Europeans can play the North American game and they have for years.
SOME europeans shy away from physicality, but so do some North American players.
This board obviously watch too much Coach's Corner.
Tons of poeple are hounding after Nonis for "not DRFTING K0ptar!1! Goalz!"
but I guarentee you that if we were to draft Kopitar on that day, the fans and CDC would be hounding him for drafting some soft Euro from Slovenia(where the f*** is that?) and that we should've got some good Canadian talent like Bourdon.

Overreact much? All I said is that I hope we draft a big Canadian center man; I didn't go ripping all prospects like you just did. Calm the f*** down buddy.

I think for the most part the anti Euro sentiment comes specifically from the Europeans on the Canucks. None of them have particularly stepped up and there are high profile contrasts such as captain Naslund really struggling (according to most) where as the people's captain
I always feel that we sould take the best player available. All things being equal then choose the one that best fits our needs. All things still being equal choose a local who may have a little extra pride in playing for a team they grew up watching.
Leaning towards needs is obviously common sense but I don't think it's something to lean over board about. Situations change so much by the time drafted players are ready (unless you're talkin Crosby etc...) that the needs probably won't be the same anymore. Players you didn't expect have stepped up, injuries and trades have taken place etc... Take Cory Schneider for example. We obviously need goaltending when we took him. That's obviously not the case anymore. But wait, we may need him again in 4 years when as a goaltender he's just coming into his own. You just can't account for the future.
Sheesh. I ended up putting a lot more into that post then I expected.
