Hey. I have a question. Now, I'm one of those people who say after Luongo's contract is up, put in Schneider as our number 1 because it would save us some money for the cap. I'm just wondering, at his maximum potential, what current goalie now do you think Schneider would be closest to in terms of skill?

To be honest, Luongo

Acrobatic saves, on-ice leadership, makes difficult saves look easy, and doesnt give shooters much to look at

The problem is too many goalies are the same, so he's basically the same as any good-sized butterfly goalie

does anyone know which 2nd rounders Nonis hung onto? Do we still have LA's? Smolinski was traded for a conditional pick, does anyone know the conditions? Damn, i'm excited for draft day.

Sopel was the one traded for conditional I think... they can pick one of our 2007 or 2008 2nd rounders. So if they pick 2007, we only have 1 2nd rounder (I believe it's LA), but if 2008, we should have 2 (LA and ANA)...

Prospect Games for Sunday:

Hamilton @ Manitoba Moose (AKA Edler, Hansen, Raymond, Grabtastic, Rahimi, Bourdon & Friends)
Game #2
Hamilton leads series 1-0

Note: Bourdon could play today. As well, I wouldn't be surprised to see Grabby get in a game or two. Carey Price is the goalie for HAM and I would think that if Coach Arniel has any brains, he would play a player that has spent the last 2 years playing against him. In 8 Games last year Grabby scored 5 Goals on Price.

This is where i got the idea Smoke was for a conditional. I know Tsn isnt always that accurate so I dunno, whatever. I'm really most interested in the status of that LA pick. Do u have a link that says we hung onto the LA pick? Or was this just something you heard back when it happened?

PS

itzabreeze, you dont waste any time with the prospect game updates do you? kudos

It's just something Nonis mentioned in previous interviews... perhaps someone might be able to give a better source, but I'm sure Nonis alluded to us retaining that pick... Sorry, no help. ^^;

The best thing for the canucks prospects next year would be a year at manitoba developing together. Guys like Raymond,Grabner, Simek and Hansen would be best served getting to know each other's on ice tendencies and off ice as well. During the lockout year teams like buffalo and LA were really able to get all there core youth together playing and its going to serve them well moving forward. That being said one or 2 of our prospects will probably have to play in the NHL for salary cap reasons.

Sure is fun listening to bitter Moose fans that still wish they had an NHL team female dog about how crappy Edler, Rahimi, Hansen, Grabner have been. Especially with the one girl on the site that names herself GorenGal....because Goren is going to be the "next" one. It could be because Hansen and Edler maybe the type of players that play better @ a higher level with better linemates or Moose fans are on crack. Not all, just some.

Thanks to mr7 for the sig
