I posted this is the trades area but I'll post it in here as well.

Dylan Yeo (D) has signed a deal with the Canucks.
http://whl.ca/en/sta...er.php?id=22764
http://www.hockeydb....a...E&pid=73510
He played with the Calgary Hitman last year...
He will most likely play with the S-Kings or Moose next season.

Name: Dylan Yeo
Number: 5
Pos.: D
Shoots: L
Height: 5'11
Weight: 210
Birthdate: 1986-07-16
Hometown: Prince Albert, SK

2005-06 WHL Season Calgary Hitmen 56Gp 7G 11A 18Pts 19 +/- 78PIM
2006-07 WHL Season Calgary Hitmen 57Gp 8G 23A 31Pts 27+/- 64PIM
2007 WHL Playoffs Calgary Hitmen 18Gp 4G 8A 12Pts 2+/- 22PIM

From what I know of he is a hard hitting D-man, with leadership quality's and does have the ability at times to put some points on the board.

From Hitman site:

Player Bio: Yeo the current Captain of the Hitmen. He was selected in the 3rd round (47th overall) by Prince George in the 2001 Bantam Draft. Dylan plays a strong, physical game. His favorite team growing up was the Calgary Flames.

If things don't work out for him as an hockey player, maybe he could one day take over the singing the anthem from Mark Donnelly.... ;)

My source is from Dylan himself. I don't give a **** if you don't believe me.

- They say that everything happens for a reason - I'm still waiting - They say the good die young - I guess that's why you were chosen -

Patrick White.

Size...Hardworking Centre RH shot......

Dont know if he can skate?

Havent heard much about him.

12 GP 8 goals, 1 assist.

Good offensive instincts, going to U of Minny next year....

Hope we can get Moller or Maclean.

Alrighty, I don't hate this selection, I've liked what I've read about him

And we get a guarenteed shot at four of the following:

Moller Anderson Veilluex Mayorov Repik Maclean Sweatt.

From TSN's Top 60 Prospects:
A skilled forward with the ability to make a difference. Strong player with a physical presence. Plays tough in the corners and in traffic. Is good on the right wing and gets his wrist shot off with ease. Sometimes lacks urgency in his play.

Video of him playing. No goals in there, but he looks pretty solid. Too hard to tell though.

I'd like to know whether he played in the World Juniors, or U-18s.

BTW, is it just the 1st round today?

Yes, just 1st round.

2-7 tommorow at 7, non televised.

We will get a solid player at 33.

With two early centre picks, our Centre depth will be bolstered thank god.

Lets get some discussion going.

I think he is exactly what we needed.

He has the Size, he is a RH centre who can play RW, good wrist shot, "can make a difference", physical, sounds good to me.

Hope he doesnt stay in college for more than 2 years.

Some size continued size would be nice, I'd be just as happy with Veilleux with the next pick. THough McLean, Moller would be more offensive punch.

Thanks to mr7 for the sig

Originally I was angry with the pick, really hoping that we would draft David Perron who seemed to be slipping farther than expected. However, after a while I kind of thought that drafting White might be good afterall. Big center with a RH shot and is supposedly very clutch. However, he lacks urgency/consistency in his game, which will hopefully come as he develops. I'm just dreaming that tomorrow we can draft some of the following players tomorrow (second round picks):

1. Moller - Good swedish forward who already plays a north american game
2. Sweat - Fastest skater in the draft
3. Mayarov - Top 15 talent, Russian transfer agreement and maybe his interviews (pure speculation on the interview part, supposedly it was Cherapanov's interviews that made him drop and not just the transfer agreement; maybe the same can be said of Mayarov?) have made him drop this far. If he's drafted by the Canucks and promises to come to N.A. after developing in the Russian Leagues, I will be extremely pleased.
4. Repik - Perimeter player but no doubt has a very good skill set. If he can push himself to play through traffic he'll be a steal
5. Veileux - Big center with a lot of size, skating is an issue though
6. MacLean - Playing with Tavares probably helped him and attributes to his drop, but still has a very nice shot and probably helped Travares with his point totals, although not as much as Tavares helped him.
7. Aliu - This one is for the later second if he's available. Big, powerforward who has 1st round skills but his attitude is questionable. I'd still really like to take a chance with this guy and see how he pans out. If he is drafted by us I hope the London Knight Kings set him straight.

O_o

Anyway, that video is very boring. After the first shift it's just basically him skating, never with the puck, not really doing much =/ Wish it show cased...something O_o Near the end it shows a little bit of offensive flair...a deke that puts a team mate offside <_< oh well, its something.

I wouldn't mind drafting Joakim Andersson. Also, do you think it would be a good idea to draft Simon Hjalmarsson? 54 points in 41 GP, 91 PIMs. RW.

VERY pleased with this selection

As has been stated, he's big and skilled, it's something EVERYONE on this forum has wanted for a long time

IMO, Nonis looked at skill players, and physical players, and then decided to split the difference and take White, i think tomorrow it's between Moller and Andersson, Tyrell is also up there

Cant wait for it, i'd love to see the oither picks as well, just to get to talk about new guys in new places is awesome

Ill do a new story on CDC on Monday, and i should also update this thread by then also, since alot of it is absurdly out-dated

Another note on white, i think it certainly helped his luck he was picked this early due to the fact he's commited to U of M, one of the 2 best programs in the staes, it's between them and UND, so props to him, and im going to have a freaking blast watching him over the next year

Info and video of him should be much more accessible next year too, WOOT

First just like to say that I love the Pat White pick.

But found this on Sportsnet.ca while I was reading about White.

Quote

When the draft resumes Saturday morning, the Canucks pick third in the second round, 33rd overall and they also have the 56th and 61st picks. But after that, they're not up again until the 145th pick.
