Yeah, if you sign as a college player, you're done college, NO SOUP FOR YOU

Not like the CHL

That needs to change, NCAA players should atleast be able to attend camp, SO LONG as it wont interfere with their education. Which means White should be here for that conditioning camp, but not the main one
QUOTE (Dave Chappelle)You know why my show is good? Because the network officials say you're not smart enough to get what I'm doing, and every day I fight for you. I tell them how smart you are. Turns out, I was wrong. You people are stupid.

Moose Updates:

Canucks Acquire Defenceman Zach Fitzgerald From St. Louis Blues Vancouver Canucks Aug 1, 2007, 2:00 PM EDT
Zach Fitzgerald

Vancouver, B.C. Vancouver Canucks Senior Vice-President and General Manager Dave Nonis announced today that the Canucks have acquired defenceman Zack Fitzgerald from the St. Louis Blues in exchange for centre Francois-Pierre Guenette. In keeping with club policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Definitely a loss for the S-Kings... Guenette put up solid points for them. and we get another Defensive Defenceman... joy. Zach Fitzgerald is a 3rd round pick. Looks like a rough D-man with high PIM throughout his career.

Zach Fitzgerald:

Nicknames are Fitzy and Jerry Started playing hockey at age four because his brother was playing His older brother Rusty was drafted by the Pittsburgh Penguins. Played three years there and now plays in Frankfurt, Germany Was MVP of his Bantam A team Does not like to have his stick touch the ground before a game Interests outside of hockey include hunting, fishing, traveling, cars and movies Likes going to Mariner and Sonics games.

Talent Analysis
One word comes to mind when mentioning FitzGerald's style of play: mean. Defensively responsible, offensively adequate, and very physical, the Seattle defenseman regularly ravages the opposition in his own end. One of the most feared enforcers in the WHL during his time, FitzGerald has led by example, taking matters into his own hands, and doing his best to prevent the opposition from taking liberties on his teammates.

Canucks re-sign Balej; Moose re-sign Keane
http://www.moosehock...p?press_id=1190

Like the fact that Balej came back to NA. Balej Raymond Grabner would be a pretty sick line. Too bad none of them are centre's

Both the Vancouver Canucks and the Manitoba Moose made signings August 1st, with the Canucks re-signing forward Jozef Balej and the Moose re-signing captain Mike Keane for his 20th pro-hockey season.

Keane will be a great mentor for the "kids".

Isnt it funny though

CDC begins talking about Lindros
Eklund says we're talking to him

CDC reports Ekman was talking to the Canucks
Eklund reports it

CDC had a big thread on Jozef Balej
Eklund reports we signed him

CDC has MULTIPLE threads on Linden
Eklund hops on the Linden train and says he's signed

CDC talks about the possibility of Elias being traded here
Eklund says it's almost a done-deal

CDC begins talking about Matt Stajan
Eklund reports we're interested

CDC throws Olli Jokinen's name last trade-deadline
Eklund revives it by saying we want him

And on, and on, and on it goes

What a f*cking nut-job

Sounds a bit like a chicken and egg problem. Does Eklund's rumour always come first or does speculation from CDC come first?

The thing I love is that the players he names are obviously guys the Canucks could or should be interested in. Elias? Erik Cole? Lindros? Of course they're options to fill some of our voids up front. The question is, how do we get said players to come here, how do we sign then for cheap, and, in the case of Elias, how do we avoid getting stuck with a fat contract when he's over the hill?

Anyway, an on-topic question: Fitzgerald = enforcer for the Moose? I can't really see him earning a spot on the big squad with all the depth (and one-way contracts) we have. I wouldn't mind seeing him called up once or twice, just to watch a brutal, bloody, violent hockey fight.

I say Fitzgerald is going to fight for a spot on the Moose and probably split time with the S-Kings. Can't see us bringing him in as an enforcer for the Nucks. He's only 22, another young project defenseman though so thats good.

The Moose look stacked. This will surely inflate Schneider's stats and send his "bluechip prospect" stock through the roof. Very good news for us.

Can't spell Kesler without Selke.

Slapyourself if you think Kesler will score 25+ goals, he just doesn't have the offensive skill.

From Nonis' 1040 Interview.

Raymond: Needs to become a man, gain some weight, thinks he will be a top 6 forward in the near future

Grabner: Needs to get stronger.

Does anyone have a list of minor league players that the Canucks have signed from Europe CHL NCAA or from trades this offseason?
