....sigh Hiroshima makes it so hard to support Simek... you have to worry about him popping up everytime you mention that prospect
oh and if you read this, please talk about other prospects for once Hiroshima ... <_<

Taken from the lovely people over at Gopher Puck Live, it re-inforces what my prediction is:

Pat White follows in the footsteps of many recent first round Gopher draft picks. Most everyone in the state has watched him in the last several state tournaments playing for Grand Rapids. It’s easy to see why he was drafted so high; he was simply a dynamic player in high school. He can create space for himself where there isn’t any – he’s got a great shot, great hands and skates great for a player his size (6’1”, 190 lbs.).

If White stays healthy, he should be playing on one of the top two lines by season’s end at the latest. Pat is a natural center; playing with another dynamic player moved back to a better spot on the wing (I’ll leave that up to the imagination) might be the perfect scenario for Gopher fans come playoff time.
QUOTE (Dave Chappelle)You know why my show is good? Because the network officials say you're not smart enough to get what I'm doing, and every day I fight for you. I tell them how smart you are. Turns out, I was wrong. You people are stupid.

It's great to hear all this positive feedback about White. Hopefully he does make it up to those top 2 lines by seasons end!

Ellington has been released to his junior team already... Raymond scored a nice goal against Oilers.

Sent down to the AHL.

Back-skating needs work.

Positioning needs work.

Needs work.

Hes just entering his freshman year at college.

So he could get his degree and go for 4 years (I hope not)

Or he could forego the rest of his college years after 1-3 years.

I'd hope for 2 years of NCAA hockey, 1 AHL before NHL.

What are those pictures from btw Toxic?

However, some universities stream their games online for free (UND), so i'll check every night whether or not the teams games vs Minnesota are going to be streamed over ze interweb

Moose Notes:

Training camp - Day 1

Intrasquad highlights: Team White prevailed in the first intrasquad game, 4-3 over Team Black. Centre Ash Goldie scored two goals while defenceman Jason Dest and winger Peder Skinner had White markers. Daniel Rahimi, Colin Sinclair and Danny Groulx scored for losing Black.

* What the coach saw: Beyond Goldie's two-goal game, Moose coach Scott Arniel saw much that was predictable on Monday. Said Arniel: "There were some different guys who made some real good offensive plays. I liked the way (Alex) Bolduc skated. Keaner (Mike Keane) looked like his veteran self out there. And with some young guys I hadn't seen before, there were some things I liked."

* What you need to know: A feeling-out first day on the ice produced no scraps. Expect competition for the few jobs the Moose may have open to intensify leading up to the first of three exhibition games on Wednesday night in Steinbach against the U of M Bisons.

* Daily shipment: Defenceman Daniel Rahimi, re-assigned by Vancouver on Sunday, was on the ice here Monday, as was former Brandon Wheat Kings star Mark Derlago, who was added on a training-camp tryout.

Derlego led the WHL in goals last year. I remember on an end of the year interview Arniel went on the record that he personally believed that Derlego did not have the foot Speed to succeed at the next level. I would be interested to see if he can impress in the upcoming weeks.
