Friday v. Rensselaer. It's an IceBreaker game, whatever that means.

I was watching a very interesting behind the scenes look for St.Louis Draft Day 2007.

Had a couple clips with Patrick White being interviewed by them.

50 minutes long though.

Very interesting look at the draft though. Would've love to have a behind the scenes view for Vancouver in the 2005 draft.

Excellent, Kablukov is getting points.

And Shirokov keeps it up, I'd say this offseason is our last chance to get Shirokov over, whatddaya think?

I've said it before, this offseason is the only time we can lure shirokov over and still reap the benefits of his skill, after this hes going to go downhill, also hell get a more lucrative contract, and like Koltsov once Kiril got that big contract he stayed put, if Shirokov accepts another Russian contract, i will no longer consider him a propsect

Yep, that sounds about right.

We haven't really talked about anyone from the 2008 draft yet, are there (m)any talented 6'3+ 200 pound+ centres?

Just wondering about Shirokov... I thought he just recently signed a 2 year contract? o_O How are we supposed to get him over here? /wondering

I'd bet that there is an NHL out-clause somewhere in there.

Most Euro contracts seem to have them.

But we need to get him over before he gets offered big money by a Russian contract.

We need Shirokov to want to be an NHL star.

Yeah, but I thought Russia was already fixing (or have they already?) that out clause? Is that the 2-week thing you're referring to?

No, they got rid of that loophole.

Many players in Russia have out-clauses if they are offered contracts from NHL teams, but I believe there is a window for that sometime in the summer.

That contract is hazy, i talked with some Russian hockey experts, actually IN Russia, they're confused by it as well. One said he heard nothing of it, and i also talked with Gero Hertle, he also said he hadnt heard it announced.

It's Russia, so many things are screwed up there, i try not to take their news too seriously

Any of you think Patrick White will make the jump from NCAA to AHL next off-season?
