I crave an update on the UMin game.

I found a page with scores and it says the Umin game is at 737 CST....so.....shouldn't it be 1HR in...or just starting right now...

I am confused.

An hour in. USCHO.com is the only decent site I can find for NCAA stats, but they don't post scores 'till the games are done.

Oh yeah, I just found this. Doesn't have much to do with Schnieder, but I figured I'd post it anyways :P

College Hockey: BC goalies have big skates to fill
by Dan Cagen/The Heights/Boston College
(CSTV U-WIRE) CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. — You don't have to go very far to realize that this is a new season of hockey for Boston College. All you have to look at is the new men between the pipes.

Gone is the man who holds the all-time shutout record; the man who set school records for saves in a season two years ago, only to break it again last year; the man who led the Eagles this close to not one, but two national championships.

That man was Cory Schneider, the Marblehead, Mass., native who decided to turn in his BC sweater for that of the Vancouver Canucks (or at least for the Manitoba Moose of the AHL). The fact that BC doesn't have Schneider between the pipes won't diminish the great expectations for this season.

The Eagles are still one of the most talented teams in the nation, not to mention Hockey East.

The scoring power of Nathan Gerbe, Brock Bradford, and Benn Ferriero is good enough to win some games by itself, but on those days when the Eagles offense is slowed down, it will come down to the Eagles' new trio of goalies — John Muse, Andrew Margolin, and Alex Kremer — who could make the difference.

"I think there is a little pressure, especially considering we're all new goalies this year," Margolin said. "We definitely have expectations. I think any one coming after someone that big and the team always had a go-to guy like that, someone they could rely on for the past three years.

"I think they expect the same thing from us, even though we are freshmen. They're going to expect that we play well and live up to the standards."

Kremer said, "It might add a little bit of pressure, but I think it'll help us compete and make us really want to get better. And I think all three of us, all being new, will all push each other and I think in the end it will help us all."

Muse, however, had a different approach. When asked if he feels any pressure replacing Schneider, he said, "Not really. He's an unbelievable goalie, but I'm not Cory Schneider, so I don't feel I have to step right in and be what he was here."
Margolin is one of two freshmen goalies, the other being Muse.

But just because he is new to the college life doesn't mean that he is meeting all new people. Margolin and Kremer were teammates in high school at The Taft School in Darien, Conn.

"When I was a sophomore and junior, we both were the two goalies on the team," Margolin said. "Actually, we're pretty good friends and we have been since then."

"It's definitely a pleasant surprise to see that [Margolin] got recruited," Kremer said. "And that was even before I knew I would be on the team. It was just nice to see that there would be a Taft player on the team, and now it's just an extra bonus that we ended up together again."

"We have all of stories from our old friends and so it's nice to have someone to relate to, someone that I know from my old school," added Kremer.

While Margolin took the starting job for his own last season at Taft, Kremer was trying out for the Eagles.

When he didn't make the cut due to BC's depth at the position, Kremer was relegated to the club team.

"I pretty much tried out last year because my high school coach said, 'You might as well give it a shot. You've got nothing to lose,'" Kremer said. "So I tried out and [coach Jerry York] said, 'You look good, unfortunately we just don't need a goalie. We have three goalies."

"So my [high school] coach said to give it another shot next year, and then things kind of unraveled where they might need another goalie with Schneider leaving. And that situation presented itself. I was still unsure in May, and then in the summer I got a pleasant phone call saying I'd be a part of the team."

Kremer has been spending just a bit more time practicing this season.

"The major difference is time," he said. "It's unbelievable how much time you spend here. Last year you would get just about once a week practicing, and then you'd be lucky to get a game on the weekend. It was really tough to get to ice ... It's been a big change though with the time commitment and the skill level, it's definitely a lot faster, but it's something I'm excited about."
There was no chance that Muse would be spending any time on the club team.

The freshman from East Falmouth will start Friday's season opener against No. 10 Michigan in the IceBreaker tournament in St. Paul, Minn.

Muse would not be anywhere near Chestnut Hill had Schneider not left in June. Had Schneider returned for his senior season, Muse would be playing juniors for the Indiana Ice.

"When I committed, I was told that when Cory left I would come to BC," Muse said. "But if he had stayed for his senior year, then I would have had to play in the USHL."

Make no mistake: Muse was brought in to replace Schneider. He signed just four days after Schneider left for the pros.
As a senior at Noble & Greenough School, Muse was named the US Hockey Report goaltender of the year, putting up a 2.38 goals-against and .932 save percentage while marking eight shutouts last year.

One thing the goalies will be spending some time working on over the coming years will be adding some muscle to their frames. After Schneider weighed in at 200 pounds last season, Kremer and Muse will start the season at 175 pounds each, while Margolin is 165.

"Mostly everyone's told me that when Cory got here, he's wasn't how big he was now," Muse said. "It's more a work in progress."

"I think we've all learned that in the weight room we can improve in certain areas," Kremer said. "I think the new regimen; it's been new to all of us. It'll definitely be a change for all of us and in the end I think we'll definitely be gaining a bit of muscle, gaining a bit of weight."

"I'd say we're all about the same in the weight room," Kremer added. "We're kind of a 'Three Musketeers' group in the weight room. We all lift about the same weights and we all kind of cling together in the weight room."

Margolin, however, brought up a game that BC fans would rather forget to show that a smaller goalie can still have success.
"I wouldn't say we'd have to put on like 30 pounds, like 190, because I just think that's not realistic," Margolin said. "And last year, obviously, the goalie from Michigan State [Jeff Lerg] ... was 5-6, like 155 pounds, maybe 160 pounds, and he played great all season. He was a main component in them winning the championship game. So I think as long as you're strong and fit it can be done."

The way these guys see it, there is something to prove and there are questions to be answered.

"As a personal goal it would be for all three goalies to push each other, to prove to the rest of the team that the goalies can handle the pressure," Kremer said. "It's going be hard. There's nobody that can replace a Cory Schneider, but we'd like to answer those questions that people are having about the goalies."

No idea HOW happy I am that Bourdon is at least with the Moose(all that talk about not enough room on Moose, ECHL etc etc). I want to remain optimistic that he can develop his game and become a great player on the Canucks. "Luc Bourdon earned a fighting a major and an instigator penalty in the second period of that game when he stepped into a scrum in defence of a teammate and battled Brad Ference to a short draw." Say that on CDC, good to hear. Hey if Bourdon makes the big club eventually he can stand up for anyone and won't take **** from anyone.

BustZorS! ;)

I don't imagine White will be getting a lot of prime minutes on that Gopher team, they got one hell of a line-up. If White can put up like 8 goals and 20 points, I would consider that a big success. His 2nd and possibly 3rd year will be more telling when he has better minutes.

A good freshman season is 10-15 pts.

Well unless the Canucks continue to play like they have been for the rest of the year we WILL not get Beach as much as I'd also like him. He'll be gone after #4 on the board.

On an Canucks prospect note I hope either they commit to playing Raymond or send him down for some quality minutes.

Thanks to mr7 for the sig

Well that would depend on your definition of good ...

I don't expect White to do much better than that considering his ice time, and if he does score 10-15 points it would be an achievement, but you can hardly call 10-15 points a good freshman season in any other circumstances. At least not for a 1st round NHL draft pick

He'll be gone before (hopefully) our 30th pick.

And there are questions about his attitude. I hate kids with poor attitudes.

What other 6'3 200 Centres are available in this draft

If Nonis makes a serious pitch like he did with Kyle Turris he may be able to snatch him with the 4th overall pick.

There is also Joel Champagne who will be a first rounder,

Joel Champagne
Center
Born Jan 24 1990 -- LaSalle, PQ
Height 6.03 -- Weight 205 -- Shoots L

A power forward with great physical presence an ability to protect the puck, shows good stickhandling skill, does not give up on the play and has an impressive work ethic.A player you notice every game.Somehow unpolished,he displays solid effort and
commitment

Theres also Mikhal Stefanovich who may be the perfect linemate for the Sedins bu if he continues the season he has right now he may bolt up to top 10.

Mikhail Stefanovich
Right Wing
Born Nov 27 1989 -- Minsk, Belarus
Height 6.02 -- Weight 202 -- Shoots R

Plays the game at a very fast pace. A great sniper, he has a hard, accurate shot, needs to use it more. Can often change the course of the game with one shift.
Mikhail looks to have that innate sense that all elite offensive threats have. He possesses an elusive agility and exciting one-on-one moves.

It's a good season for someone whos playing on the 3rd line in his first year in the NCAA 1 summer removed from High School

Also, generally most freshman (high picks and non high picks) have between 5 and 15 pt. seasons

I expect him to move onto the 2nd line eventually, and thus i am expecting a 20-30 pt season
