He's just stating his opinions. And while he could have said it a lot better, that doesn't mean he should be shunned.
I'm not for mugging prospects or anything, but holding them up like they're gods of hockey is ridiculous. I don't mind when people criticize players as long as it doesn't get out of hand, or the criticism is undeserving. In the same way I don't mind people getting excited about or complementing a player who does well.
In this case, I don't think that Raymond deserves criticism, but I don't think he's been playing particularly well either. Not enough to warrant praise anyways.
This is a good thread, but attacking someone for stating an oppinion (however badly it was stated) doesn't make you much better than the 'un-original trolls'. Don't you think defending Raymond would have been a better way to deal?
Two things.
1. That was not constructive criticism of Raymond, that was just bashing, if you see the 1st page of this thread, it specifically says bashing of prospects is not allowed. If it was this thread would be horrible and filled with bourdon -> kopitar remarks and about the Canucks poor drafting history, but it's a sort of mutual understanding when people post here that criticism is fine, but not blatant insulting and bashing.
2. Defending Raymond would certainly have been better, but there's only so many times i can defend Raymond or defend the selection of White or Bourdon before i get swarmed by the throngs of idiots. I've spent far too much time defending these players only to see more and more threads questioning them come up, theres only so much 1 poster can do against hundreds who have it out for our prospects no matter what.
It appears insulting posters rather than trying to reason with them works MUCH better, and until that changes, i won't change my approach.
