Heres a good post from the HFboards regarding on players of the upcoming draft who would perfect fits for an NHL team

Quote

4. Vancouver Canucks and Kyle Beach, Right Wing in the WHL
Vancouver has done a decent job locking up good defensive prospects with Edler and Bourdon, and a fantastic job of acquiring franchise goaltender Roberto Luongo. Their main problem right now is offense. Is Markus Naslund on his last leg? Can the Sedins continue to hold the team together? Was, as hard as it is to say, Todd Bertuzzi a good thing to have on the team? Don't answer that last one. But right now one thing is clear, Vancouver needs offense, and Grabner will not supply it on the level they need, plus they don't have the grit Bert took when he departed for Florida. The 'match made in heaven' for the Vancouver Canucks is Kyle Beach of the Everett Silvertips. The offensively gifted power forward has 20 points in 12 games, along with 64 penalty minutes as a center. Beach stands at 6'3" 203lbs with the potential to gain 5-10lbs by draft day. Convinced now? A large power forward netting more than one point per game for Everett. The Vancouver Canucks need to start wheeling and dealing to get this guy on their team. His ability to use his grit and size to wrestle the puck from his hapless victims is uncanny, but his ability to take that and create offensive opportunities for his own team is a feat of it's own. The Vancouver Canucks could benefit heavily by drafting this guy. Their 'knight in shining armor' to rekindle a thin offense.

We wont finish that poorly and any team with that selection will ask surely for our own 1st, one of our top prospects and a 2nd or 3rd, maybe more, maybe our 1st, Bieksa, 2nd

I wouldn't mind that. I seem to recall things going well the last time the Canucks traded a top defenseman for a high draft pick.

I haven't watched any Moose games so that's why I ask this question. For the people who have seen Bourdon play, does anyone think he's on the right track again? I know his stats are good and it can be a good indication of quality but also can be deceiving as well.

Here is an very early update on the top 10 picks rated for 2008 so far

No. Player Position Height/weight Shoots Date of birth Team

1. Steven Stamkos C 6-1/180 R 2/7/90 Sarnia

2. Alex Pietrangelo D 6-3/198 R 1/18/90 Niagara

3. Drew Doughty D 6-0/213 L 12/8/89 Guelph

4. Kyle Beach LW 6-3/205 R 1/13/90 Everett

5. Nikita Filatov LW 6-0/157 R 5/25/90 CSKA

6. Kirill Petrov RW 6-2/201 L 4/13/90 Ak Bars Kazan

7. Mikkel Bødker RW 5-11/201 L 12/16/89 Kitchener

8. Mikhail Stefanovich RW 6-2/202 R 11/27/89 Quebec

9. Robert Mayer G 6-1/190 L 10/9/89 St. John

10. Zach Bogosian D 6-2/199 R 7/15/90 Peterborough

There is also Jordan Eberle with the Regina Pats who is leading the WHL with 14 goals and 23 pts

So for all the Beach lovers we are really going to have to pull a Columbus this year to even come close to him as a pick. This isn't going to be like last year where there are huge question marks on the top 10. This draft had a buzz about it before last years draft.

What? No Luke Schenn in there? I see Bodker and Stefanovich have climbed up and it looks like we have no shot at them.

Beach is definitely intriguing, but a lot of people have said this guy has some serious character issues. He also made fun of Milan Lucic' condition that makes his back a bit humped. Even though he's a young guy, that's totally classless.

Oh.

Yeah, I thought something was wrong.

It said Joly had 6 goals too, but he only had three.

Guess the scores got doubled up.

Really nice to see that THREE, count it THREE, of our prospects are in the top 20 for Rookie scoring in the AHL.

Bourdon outscoring the likes of: Lee, Letang, Ryan, Skille (all from his draft year)

Labrie with 3G 3G in 7GP, looking like a pretty good pickup so far.

Grabner outscoring Trevor Lewis and Chris Stewart right now (they went 2 and 3 spots behind Grabner in 2006, a lot of complaints that we didn't take Stewart (6PG 1A -3))

^ I think it's Brian Lee, a defensive prospect of the Sens.
