Simek, very questionable indeed.
Cosintino was saying tambellini thinks that Simek is NHL ready in terms of his play, skill and awareness in the offensive zone and that he still needs some polishing in the deffensive side of the rink. He said the problem with Simek deffensivly is not Simeks effort but he just needs some experiance at the AHL level. He also said that Simek needs to play with more of a consistant effort deffensivly.

LOL, I heard that as well. Cosintino said Simek was a "strange character". Gee, that came out of knowhere eh?.
Moving on.
It was interesting to hear that he believes Simek has NHL skill RIGHT NOW. It's nice to see the prospects getting alot of ice time on the farm right now.

I was actually very suprised and extremely exitited to hear that about Simekl. We just got to hope arniel can teach this kid some deffense and we may have a top six NHL player some day!

Leave him in the AHL as long as possible until he's blowin' up offensively and oozing confidence.

Another great late round pick.
Now if only Shirokov comes over to North America....then we'd have two solid 6th rounders.

Why did he go so late in the draft?. Was there anything other then the "Will he come over to NA"??????? Euro tag.

Simek or Shirokov?
Cause Shirokov was a much older player in that draft and had not put up stupendous numbers, coupled with the lack of a Russia/NA transfer agreement.
Simek probably because of playing in a non-traditional hockey country, that being Switzerland.

He started the year on the 3rd line with Lucia and Bostrom.
Last game they played he was Centering the 4th line.
3/4th lines play very limited minutes though.

I love all our prospects but I particularly like Hansen. That's me rooting for the 7th round underdog.

Lol as if Colorado didn't already have enough offense(well im not 100 % sure at the time of draft), that'd have been scary

That's one reason I have a tough time wanting top prospects playing in the NCAA if they are playing limited minutes. He'd be on a top 2 line in the CHL and would play way more situations. It's really tough to develop when you don't play.

Minnesota does have a good reputation as one of the better hockey programs in the NCAA (4-4 Start does not mirror that reputation so far)
The plan for White is to work his way to increased minutes over the course of his college career (Which I hope lasts no more than 2 seasons)
But, If he does not get an increase in icetime next year (I.E he is toiling on the 3rd or 4th line), he should definitly consider joining the Seatlle Thunderbirds of the WHL where he would surely get ice time in all situations and become more aclimatized to an NHL game load and where we could keep close tabs on him and even watch him in person. This is only if they don't increase his ice time in the next 12 months.
