Heres a good article on the Moose,

Damn Grabner more explosive than Raymond? :o

Balej injured . he could have been a good call up.

Lol, Only on CDC could a topic named "I knew Alexander Edler was good but..., I had no Idea" turn into a Naslund Bash fest. Morons.

Grabner has a faster first step, Raymond has a faster top speed

FSN Specials

Draft Day Special.

Ah yes, that's the one.

The full quote is, "I think we gotta take a chance with Perron at 26 if he's there, he's so skilled."

Earlier in the show the scouts are kind of arguing about a player, based on the two scouts arguing, I'm pretty sure they're talking about Perron (the same two were arguing about him earlier) JD goes to say, "his pros are like this [motions a large list] and his cons are like this [motions a small list] but the cons are very important." Then someone says, "yeah, because it's heart and character."

So.. yeah, the Blues knew about his skill but they were not dismissing his lack of heart and character. They players they wanted for sure were determined before the draft and they got them. Perron was not one of those players, they decided on him on the draft floor after they had already got who they really wanted.

QUOTE (Dave Nonis)
"We're not that far away, if we add some pieces we have a very competitive team."
QUOTE (Mike Gillis)
"A couple of very good decisions, or a couple of really bold decisions, might put this team in a position to win almost immediately."
Viva la Revolution!

The Blues had an amazing draft, they got EVERY player they targeted, Ian Cole was the main guy, he was above Perron

Well the determination of Perron can't be questioned (or so says Brent Sutter). He supposedly covered up for his lack of skating and other lacking talents over the summer due to a LOT of hard work. The heart? Well, that only Perron knows if he has or not. I still would've liked him on draft day (he was my knee jerk reaction regarding who I thought the Canucks would draft, same with Moller at 33), but I understand why the Canucks chose White with their pick with regards to organizational needs and wanting to take less of a risk with their pick (the year before they took quite a big gamble with Grabner).

Patrick White is a Center, David Perron is not, end of story.

Thanks for digging that up.

I would've refered to that video if I had remembered what exactly they said about him.

As much as I want a player with questionable attitude....I really don't.

Does anyone actually think that Perron would be in our lineup right now, cause I really doubt it.

Yeah, but I seem to remember Nonis commenting on how they look for a bunch of other stuff before they think about the player's position. I mean obviousely they're looking at the positions, but it was something about how even if they were stacked for defense, they would still choose a defenseman if they thought he was the best player available.

Character.

Heart.

Passion.

Conditioning.

Skating Ability.

Those all come into the equation, Perron's flaws pre-draft regarded the first 3 of those.

But you can never please Canuck fans.

Fans wanted tougher north American players with size, heart, passion.

And they wanted a Centre in the first round, so we got one, one who one scout believes is the 2nd best sniper in that draft class.

And they wanted local boys, so we got one (Ellington), who is a Canuck Fan 4 Lyphe already, but no, never happy with our picks.

AHha, I noticed that.

Yesterday it was Perron, today it'll be Staal.

Bourdon has looked solid tonight though, skating with confidence.

Edler is an NHL defenceman, he is too good for the AHL.

I can't believe I beat you to it!
TSN seems impressed with Bourdon right now.
Edler is excellent. I don't see much/any AHL in his future.

Well actually I have taken a temporary break from "SHDLVE _______", I overused it for a period there.

On a happier note, Ellington and Gendur draw back into the Everett lineup tonight after a 2 game absence by both for reasons unknown by me.

Anyone know where I can find up-to-date Moose stats?

I know this doesn't really belong here(maby trade forum but it does involve some prospects and I know Toxic is high on Carter though I dont know much about the kid), but anyone have thoughts on the Jeff Carter talk during the game on TSN. They were talking Kesler and maby a Bourdon, Edler, or Schneider for Jeff Carter. They did mention Nonis would almost certainly say no if they had to trade Bourdon, Edler or Schneider though. Well even if this trade doesn't go through... and I highly doubt it will. Can anyone fill me in on Jeff Carter ? And i'm a huge Bourdon and Edler fan, so I'm hoping Nonis sticks to what we've seen out of him so far and wouldn't give them up. Despite what everyone else on CDC says. And in my defense(on my support of prospects) I have been following them for a while and have been on these boards for a long time, only just been starting to post however.

I am really high on Carter too.

6'3 200 pound centre with wheels and a great shot, can play the PK, maybe needs to work on passing skills.

I made a thread discussing this in the trade forum btw.
