I think probably one top 6 spot will be open for one of the young players Raymond/Simek/Grabner come to mind.

And also one top 9 spot (I/E 2nd/3rd line) which hopefully Hansen wins.

Edler is a lock for the team, Bourdon should be able to take a 5/6 spot if thats the direction we are going to take the team in (younger and faster)

For Bourdon to make the team, one of Salo Ohlund Mitchell Krajicek Bieksa will have to be moved.

As for Dmac, I hope he really wants to make the NHL and will go through a year of about 10 games.

I'd really love to see Shirokov and Kablukov in camp next year. If we don't get Shiro over this year, I don't think we'll ever see him.

Oh and Rahimi was re-assigned to the Salmon Kings today.

I agree with everything said here lol. God I am hoping and praying that we see Shirokov here in TC next year

So if Raymond sticks next year...
How does a line of...Pyatt Kesler Raymond...sound?

(I don't think Isbister will be around next year...eventhough he is playing pretty well these days)

Depends on how much Raymond bulks up in the offseason.

Yeah. At 6 feet, he could stand to put on some muscle. That could be a good all-around type line though.

I'm going to the Salmon King game tonight.

I'll keep my eye on Rahimi and probably watch Coloumbe get worked over.

Edler was interviewed in the Blake Price show tonight... It will probably be in their podcast and I didn't catch all of it buuut here's what I did remember

- He and Ohlund talks in English most of the time in the ice
- He likes hearing criticisms from the coach, just not all the time, like when they're just pointing out the obvious, but he likes hearing what he can do better
- kept his NHL first goal puck, but not his AHL first goal puck
- .. said something about he can't tell yet where his strength lies (defensive vs offensive zone), but I think he mentioned he wants to be better at one area first before he tries to do more in another area... but I'm not sure whether he said that himself or Dave did...

New ISS Top 30 for 2008

http://www.hockeysfu...8_for_november/

A lot of Centers there, a position we still need depth in.

I realize the dangers of picking Russians, but Gravchev (I've read/heard about him before) seems like he could be a solid player. It is quite possible he could fall to the 2nd round to since he is Russian. He has size that is used effectively and has the hands/skill to compliment it. They say he is strong on the puck and has good balance, but they don't talk about his speed or skating.

Apparently this next guy could be a late round steal

Edgars Ulescenko -- Riga LSPA

Pos: LW Height: 5.11 Weight: 187

Draft sleeper! He possesses that innate ability to find seams in the defensive zone and capitalize on the opportunities that he garners from that trait. His competitiveness and his strong leadership are other traits that we love. He can score important goals to lift his team. Has very good speed, smart, soft hands, aggressive forechecker, good hockey sense. He developed his skills under personal control of Vladimir Ruzicka (former NHLer with Bruins and Ottawa). For five years he has been coached in Slavia Prague organization in Czech Republic and now moved back home Latvia to be on the national team. He speaks English, which could be important for NHL clubs.

I would not feel safe selecting a player in the first round who is currently playing in Russia, its way too risky with no transfer agreement and Russian teams paying them more than they could get here on entry levels.

I like Boedker and have heard good things about Stefanovich.

Not high on Greg Nemisz (C/RW) with the Windsor Spitfires? Currently ranked 22nd overal and is 6'4 202 and is one of the younger players in the draft. Also, can't complain with his GP 28 G 16 A 13 Pts 29 +16 so far this season. Though I can see why your Colborne pick with his simular size and is commited to all mighty Denver Univ. for next season.
