Tonight vs Wayne State.

let the "Draft Viktor Tikhonov" threads commence. He was born in 1988, so he'd be an overager pick like Shirokov was.
also the "should have drafted Brad Marchand" threads

Marchand and Giroux are overated on that team. They are good but that was easily the weakest team of the last 4 gold medals by a long shot.

I'm not a Marchand fan, which stems from his dirty tactics in the Super Series (going after players knees). However, after one bad gaffe he played really well and scored some of the most important goals for Canada. Tied for team lead in goals. If he wasn't on the team, things could have been very differet.

BTW, I love Mikael Backlund. Stupid Calgary had to take him.

Schneider is climbing up the AHL goalies list at a fast rate now. He's 4-0 in his last 4 starts and went from being 41/43 goalies in GAA to 35/43 and is now ahead of Ondrej Pavelec who played for the Thrashers this season.

Just wondering what is up with Luc Bourdon ???

Starts the year with the Moose and has 8 points in 10 games, gets the
call up to the big club plays 9 games gets a goal, is +6 and averages
approx 13 minutes a night. (Really decent # for a kid fresh out of junior).
Then heads back to the Moose and falls off the face of the earth for
almost a month and a half. Jet lag ???? maybe ??

The good news is he has 3 points in his last 3 games.

Just wondering ?? injury ?? pissed he got sent back to the farm ?? jet lag ??

All of the above ?
Hindsight is an exact science.

Just a downtime, the team rly didnt play well in that stretch, they lost Edler, Raymond, Shannon, Hansen etc... Schneider wasnt solid, he just had a bad stint, but everyone did too, im not worried, hes proven he's ready for the NHL, so i think he just has to finish out the year in Manitoba, he'll be on the bottom pair next year full time for the Canucks

I have no doubt that Bourdon is ready to be on the bottom pair right now, never mind next year. But I think it just doesn't make sense to put a guy with that much potential on the bottom pairing. Especially with his 1.3 million dollar price tag.

Just because he starts there, doesnt mean he doesnt move up

If he doesnt perform well you have to keep him there, if he does then he'll be moved up

I think the only reason he isnt on our roster right now is because the space that would have been reserved for his salary is being eaten up by Miller

Schneider's stats in his last four starts:

Win Shots 15 GA 1 Saves 14 Sv% 0.933
Win Shots 26 GA 1 Saves 25 Sv% 0.962
Win Shots 30 GA 2 Saves 28 Sv% 0.933
Win Shots 32 GA 2 Saves 30 Sv% 0.938

Looks like he's finally hit a nice groove, hopefully he keeps playing like this.
